I've been with fanpop for almost five months now and at first I thought it was a really happy place, I've made ten spots and all of them are doing well, I save, rate and always comment, however I've finally seen the nasty side of Fanpop, my first spot copped a lot of flack because it was classed as 'another bila mpangilio spot' but it's going strong and gaining mashabiki as is most 'other' duplicate spots I've seen, all of my spots have been a great form of creativity and experience for me, it sounds too good to be true, AND IT IS because there is some really nasty people on our happy fanpop place, people...

I’ve read up a lot on ‘image credit’ and peoples perceptions of the right and wrong ways to credit picha but personally I think some people are going about it in the wrong way. I don’t expect people to ‘like me’ for what I’m about to say and I don’t care because as I’ve always stated, fanpop is supposed to be a happy, fun place where people can make friends, share opinions, jiunge and create spots all of which is a great way to express oneself, as well as contributing to other spots.

Double Up Spots

I don't really know how to start this as I've only been on fanpop for a little over a mwezi now, but it's just 'my opinion' regarding the spots that 'double up' as I call it. When I first joined fanpop I noticed there were quiet a few double up spots such as Buffy, Spuffy, Angel and Bangel, there's at least two Disney spots that I know of and many spin off spots such as Enchanted, Bambi and Ariel, there's many ikoni and Avatar spots, there is double up spots and triple spots, but my point is I don't care because if I'm a shabiki of say: Buffy (and I am) I'll jiunge 'everything' I can find related to that piece, whether I double up au not because what I can't find on one spot I'll find it on another.
Many of wewe may not agree with me and I don't expect anyone to do so, maybe some of wewe like a few spots on the one topic and some of wewe don't, I like fanpop just the way it is, the zaidi spots, the better.

My Experiences-Part Two

As my first makala on fanpop had to do with 'my idea' of fanpop etiquette I decided to write a part two as to how I would like to put my days into different sections eg: what to do on fanpop every day, if I have the time.

Monday: Work on the spot I've created.

Tuesday: Contribute to other spots and jiunge new ones.

Wednesday: Check my profaili and learn zaidi about my fans.

Thursday: Go through every video, picture, article, karatasi la kupamba ukuta etc. and save and rate my favorites.

Friday: Find new material to add to all of my inayopendelewa spots.

Saturday: Have one siku to go all around the whole of fanpop, I may not do anything but I might find something new.

Sunday: Try not to turn the computer on, who am I kidding?

And almost every siku I must remember to check my mail, it seems like a lot to do but it's fun anyway and if you're anything like me, someone who can stay on the computer for hours at a time? remember to take breaks at least every half an saa to avoid headaches. Have Fun.

Managing Previously Uploaded video

So this may seem a little "anal" of me, but I run into a lot of video ilitumwa on spots that are broken, and for that, I ripoti them. Still, I wonder why it's so difficult for the original poster to go back through some of the things they previously ilitumwa every once in a while (every 3 months?) to check which video may now have a copyright claim, etc. I certainly don't mind cleaning up spots kwa reporting broken content, but it is very time consuming...

As a tip, and to make this job easier for people who contribute a lot, broken video often have a gray video camera as the image instead of...

Picks are NOT made for advertising!

Just a little heads up.

It has been going on for awhile, but I've noticed it especially most recently. The bottom line of this entire makala lays in its title: pick's aren't made for advertising.

Repetitively, picks are being created that ask "I've just made a spot for ___, will wewe jiunge it?", au something along those lines. Picks like these aren't really opinions and hold little gumption in terms of an interesting kura ya maoni au contrasting maoni on a subject. Picks like these are being made to solicit new spots, which isn't what picks are for.

Unsubscribing From Spots

I decided to write this makala because I have seen maswali being asked about unsubscribing from spots and I have dropped a few spots myself.
The only two reasons I will drop a spot is if the spot has little au no content au the topic isn't exactly a inayopendelewa of mine, even if I thought it would be.
I do admit that I feel like a real mean bitch, kahaba when I decide to leave a spot and I'm not here to redeem myself au make excuses, but to help other mashabiki who are in a similar situation as I am and also hopefully for some feedback, maoni and ideas.

WARNING: I Will One-Star Chain Letters ilitumwa as makala

I hate chain letters in my e-mail box. I do not want to see them in my fanpop updates.

I remember a mwaka au zaidi ago, link got the mickey taken out of him kwa DrDevience and others for posting unoriginal chain letters and Rush Limbaugh transcripts as soapboxes. He acted accordingly and removed those articles, and though I think we came down a little unfairly on him, I agreed that chain letters should not be ilitumwa as soapboxes, because they are not original work, which was the point of soapboxes in the first place.

Image Ratings

I've been rating picha from some of my inayopendelewa spots for the last couple of days and I always rate, save and maoni (in that order strangely enough) and I was really surprised at some of the bad maoni towards images, not to the person who added them but to a certain celebrity e.g. Sarah Jessica Parker from The Sex And The City spot au Willow from the Buffy spot. Whether the image is a portrayal of the character au the person some people have left nasty maoni calling them 'ugly' and so on, if wewe are a shabiki of a spot then I'm assuming that wewe like the person, character au people surrounding...

My Experiences With fanpop

I've only been with fanpop since mid June this year, it was a bit confusing at first but I joined a few spots, made a few pics, saved some of my inayopendelewa videos, worked out how to use my mailbox, contributed to a few spots, created my own spot and made a few shabiki friends. However when we had the hivi karibuni image problem things became zaidi confusing, I couldn't ad pictures to other spots and couldn't work on my own spot so I'd log in to check my mail and the image dilemma and log straight back out again.

Hello, seekers of good majibu to burning questions! It has come to my attention that an official guide to using the new majibu feature is necessary in order to prevent abuse of this fabulous new fun feature.

Enough Is Enough

I am so sick of all the nastiness and sarcasm that goes on in Fanpop, through the forums, via shabiki pick maswali and maoni left regarding picha etc.
And I'm sick of being so nice about it when there's only so much one person can take, I've almost left fanpop on a few occasions because of 'some' peoples attitudes here and I'm over it.
I have been on fanpop for almost a mwaka now and I'm not nasty to people, I get on here and do my thing and contribute as much as I can, but if I cop anymore shit au see people being nasty to other people here I will ripoti them and I'll name all of the 'nasties'...

Proper Etiquette For shabiki Pick maswali

I have created quiet a few spots now and I upendo contributions of any kind, but I am surprised at how many people will pick on 'any' shabiki pick swali just for the sake of it even if they don't like the subject at hand.
Perfect examples of this behavior is what I have noticed not only on spots that I've created but many other spots as well, someone may put up a swali such as: 'Do wewe Like The Movie Enchanted?' and someone will answer 'Never Seen It' au another question, say - 'Which Bambi picha Is Your Favorite?' only for someone to come up with 'I Hate Bambi.'

Your Spot au Not Your Spot?

I think that this makala belongs here in opposed to 'Fanpop Spots' because it is a fanpop Etiquette issue, as well as a spot au club issue.
When wewe jiunge a spot it appears in your sasisho as one of your spots and so do the ones wewe create, I've heard some people say that a spot that wewe created 'isn't your spot' now I know that the spots belong to fanpop and I realize that 'most' of wewe would be very proud of your creations just as I am of mine.
However if wewe are the spot creator then 'in my opinion' the spot is yours to some degree, wewe create the spot, only wewe can change the banner, icon...

Heterosexism on fanpop

So I tried to think of a catchier title, but I figured I might as well just call it what it is. I have seen instances of (what I believe to be unintentional) heterosexism in several fanpop picks. As evidenced kwa link, however, some believe it to be intentional.

Now I'm not trying to whine about wording au being politically correct. In fact, I'm not politically correct in the slightest, as anyone who knows me well enough will tell you. And this issue isn't really a big deal, I just wanted to make people aware of it and ask their opinions on it. So do wewe find these things odd?
