I'm guessing that seeing as most of Merlin is based on Druid religion the Old Religion is Druid based. It seems like it's zaidi primal magic apposed to spell vitabu ...

It may be but I think it is an invented religion.

That's what I've heard, but as it's only myth (D:) there is no set date/religion that has been proven. No one will ever know.

It is probably based on the Druidic traditions and tons of artistic license.

I think it is an invented religion but i guess some of it is based on legends and Celtic religion.

druids were real people but they never did magic because it doesn't exist they were just thought of as magic people in a time when people beleved magic existed

it is most likely based on the practices of the druids. in the onyesha it is the very essence of magic. it focuses on balance. at the very center of the believes is the balance of life and death. it could be based on celtic mythology, i'm not sure.

The route of "Old Religion" is not specifically mentioned in either the onyesha au the legends. Historically, the Old Religion appears to be a reference to the pagan religion that existed in Britain prior to the Roman invasion during the 1st century AD. Like the Old Religion in the series, it had a complex system of gods, mythology and religious leaders, who appear to have been the druids. The religion zaidi au less died out after the adoption of Christianity kwa the Roman Empire. Subsequently the British developed their own version - Celtic Christianity. This may be the "new religion" within Albion.

The three figures of the Triple Goddess are usually described as "The Maiden Huntress", "The Mother Goddess" and "The Death Crone", each of which symbolises both a separate stage in the female life cycle and a phase of the moon, and often rules one of the realms of earth, heavens and the underworld.

In the legends Arthur's religion varies. Some retellings describe King Arthur as a pagan king, very tolerant towards differing religions as Merlin is often referred to as being a druid. Arthur would also have both pagans and christians in his army. In other versions, Arthur is seen as having Christian leanings, sometimes influenced kwa his wife, Guinevere, to the extent where he threatens and eradicates the existence of paganism in Britain.
