Mortal Instruments Swali
So... I've been kusoma reviews for the City of Bones movie... (be prepared for a rant)
...and there's a lot of criticism about it. I haven't seen the movie, but now I'm kind of scared that the sinema will ruin the books.
But, I have realised, that a lot of the negative criticism comes from people that already dislike the YA genre- so maybe the negative reviews are just bias?
A lot of them seem to complain that "it's unoriginal", a "jumble of other already famous YA sinema etc" "such as Twilight, Harry Potter and Percy Jackson."
Let me state something. Please do not even dare to call City of Bones a rip-off of Twilight.
What makes wewe consider that is it a "rip-off" of Twilight?
The "love triangle"? Don't almost all romantic stories have them?
The mtu-bweha and vampires? ...does that mean that the mtu-bweha and Wanyonya damu originated from Twilight?
au is it because they are both of a YA genre? au maybe it's because there's a female heroine in both series? Honestly, someone help me understand why, just why people think that City of Bones is a rip-off of Twilight.
I actually read a review where the person described City of Bones as "the worst of all Twilight copies", "...that bunch includes The Host..."
The Host is a copy of Twilight? I'm not a shabiki of Stephanie Meyer's works, neither have I read The Host, but even I know that they were written kwa the same author. wewe might want to check your facts, buddy.
Please, please, for the love of humanity, please do not compare Twilight to City of Bones.
Another thing is, people are complaining that it's 'incest'. Glad to know that the plot twist actually got to you. Although wewe don't seem to be aware that it is meant to be a plot twist.
And to clear it up (taking a quote I saw from tumblr): it's not incest, it's [complicated.
I think the thing that most people forget is that whilst romance is a hugely important factor to the plot, it is not the actually plot itself.
I know not seeing the movie might have effected my opi
