Sorry I couldn't it to ten, but there is something I upendo about each of these songs that I wanted to share with you. This a countdown, ending with number one which is the best upendo song. First I will name the song, then give some excerpts, and finally tell wewe why I choose it. If wewe don't see your inayopendelewa song on this orodha please don't just leave the makala without kusoma it. Many of these songs wewe may not have heard of because they are less well known, but I think if wewe read some of these lyrics wewe will understand why I chose them.
And now the countdown starts:

Excerpts
And there he goes so perfectly
The kind of flawless I wish I could be
Drew talks to me, I laugh cause it's just so funny
That I can't even see anyone when he's with me
He says he's so in love, he's finally got it right,
I wonder if he knows he's all I think about at night
He's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I do
She'd better hold him tight, give him all her love
Look in those beautiful eyes and know she's lucky cause
Why I picked it:
I chose this song because there are a ton of sweet one-liners in it. I just upendo the line, “And there he goes so perfectly, the kind of flawless I wish I could be.” It just reminds me of the feeling wanting someone who is way out of your league. Also the line “He’s the song in the car I keep singing, don’t know why I do.” describes perfectly the feeling of why wewe keep going back to someone even when wewe know things will never work. Even though it seems as if this song expresses a zaidi simple and dare I say “high schoolish” upendo I think it describes a relationship and a longing that we can all relate to.

Excerpts
What hurts the most
Was being so close
And having so much to say
And watching wewe walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was trying to do
It’s hard to deal with the pain of losing wewe everywhere I go
But I’m doing It
It’s hard to force that smile when I see our old Marafiki and I’m alone
Still Harder
Getting up, getting dressed, living with this regret
But I know if I could do it over
I would trade give away all the words that I saved in my heart
That I left unspoken
Why I picked it:
This song is especially meaningful for people who have been married. I think that seeing Marafiki that wewe had a couple would be moyo breaking after a break-up au a divorce. It would be just another reminder of what wewe are missing out on. Also most of us have experienced a break up where wewe feel as if wewe did something wrong and the guilt makes wewe so sad wewe don’t feel like wewe can get up and go about your day. I think most people can also relate to the feeling of having a million things to say to someone but not knowing where to start. I think this song expresses loss in a very real way.

Excerpts
wewe touched my moyo wewe touched my soul.
wewe changed my life and all my goals.
And upendo is blind and that I knew when,
My moyo was blinded kwa you.
I've kissed your lips and held your hand.
Shared your dreams and shared your bed.
I know wewe well, I know your smell.
I've been addicted to you.
Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
wewe have been the one.
wewe have been the one for me.
I am a dreamer and when I wake,
wewe can't break my spirit - it's my dreams wewe take.
I'd be the father of your child.
I'd spend a lifetime with you.
Why I picked it:
This song is amazing. It has helped me through probably the hardest break- up of my life (And apparently Michael Scott too. Yes I snuck in an Office reference!). This song is very meaningful for people leaving long-term relationships (unlike Michael :P).I think my inayopendelewa line is, “I know wewe well, I know your smell.” I upendo that line because it is so true. Smell is one of the strongest senses and to this siku if I smell an ex-boyfriends’ colognes I will turn and look. I also upendo the line, “I am a dreamer and when I wake, wewe can't break my spirit - it's my dreams wewe take.” It is so meaningful. It is horrible when wewe dream wewe are still with someone and wewe wake up only to realize that they are gone. I mean wow, this song expresses just about every feeling I have during a break-up.

Excerpts
Please don't say I upendo you.
Those words touch me much too deeply.
And they make my core tremble.
Don't think wewe realize the effect wewe have over me.
And please don't touch me like that,
Makes every other embrace seem pale and shallow.
And don't try to understand me.
Your hands already know too much anyway.
But when in your arms,
wewe have complete power over me
So be gentle if wewe please, 'cause
Your hands are in my hair, but
My moyo is in your teeth
Why I picked it:
As Jewel sings this song wewe can feel her passion. The lyrics have mind-blowing connotations. My inayopendelewa line has to be “And please don't touch me like that, makes every other embrace seem pale and shallow.” Also when she sings, “Please don't say I upendo you. Those words touch me much too deeply. And they make my core tremble.” It reminds me of the first time someone wewe really care about says they upendo you. What an amazing feeling.

Excerpts
I don't want another pretty face
I don't want just anyone to hold
I don't want my upendo to go to waste
I want wewe and your beautiful soul
You're the one I wanna chase
You're the one I wanna hold
I wont let another dakika go to waste
I want wewe and your beautiful soul...
Why I picked it:
What I upendo about this song is it’s innocence and the value it puts on your personality over how wewe look. This is not something that wewe see in many songs today. Most songs talk about how beautiful a girl is, which is sweet, but I think it is a lot sweeter to upendo someone for what is inside rather than their physical apperance.

Excerpts
wewe might think I don’t look
But deep inside
In the corner of my mind
I’m attached to you
I've waited all my life
To kuvuka, msalaba this line
To the only thing that’s true
So I will not hide
Its time to try
Anything to be with you
All my life I've waited
This is true
wewe don’t know what wewe do
Every time wewe walk into the room
I’m afraid to move
Why I picked it:
This is another song I upendo for it’s innocence. I think this song is very appropriate for a honeymoon. I upendo how it says he’s waited all his life to “cross this line.” I think wewe can take it many different ways, but all are sweet. It is wonderful because he talks about being paralyzed kwa just seeing her walk into a room. What a beautiful thought.

Excerpts:
I drove for miles and miles
And wound up at your door
I’ve had wewe so many times but somehow
I want more
I don’t mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
She will be loved
I want to make wewe feel beautiful
My moyo is full and my door’s always open
wewe can come anytime wewe want
Why I picked it:
This song has wonderful imagery. In my mind I can picture a guy standing out on a mitaani, mtaa corner imba and dancing. I upendo the line, “I want to make wewe feel beautiful.” Doesn’t every girl want a guy who spends everyday thinking of new ways to make her feel beautiful. *sigh* wewe can tell these lyrics were written kwa someone who had experienced those exact feeling. The phrasing and wording are nothing short of gorgeous.

Excerpts:
Kiss me wont wewe kiss me now
And sleep I would inside your mouth
Knowing its no big surprise
That I will wait for you
I will wait for no one but you
Oh please lover lay down
Spend this time with me
Together share this smile
Why I picked it:
This song is like a poem to music. It flows so beautifully. wewe really have to hear it with the muziki to do it justice. I upendo how he says, “I will wait for no one but you.” That says to me that she is his first choice. In this song he expresses such longing. It is absolutely magnificent.

Excerpts:
If you’re not the one then why does my hand fit yours this way?
I never know what the future brings
But I know wewe are here with me now
We’ll make it through
And I hope wewe are the one I share my life with
If you’re not for me then why do I dream of wewe as my wife?
‘Cause I miss you, body and soul so strong that it takes my breath away
And I breathe wewe into my moyo and pray for the strength to stand today
‘Cause I upendo you, whether it’s wrong au right
And though I can’t be with wewe tonight
wewe know my moyo is kwa your side
Why I picked it:
Oh my gosh, just read those words! I think they say it all, but I will put in my two cents anyway. I upendo the line, “If you’re not for me then why do I dream of wewe as my wife?” That is something wewe don’t hear a man say very often. Also “And though I can’t be with wewe tonight, wewe know my moyo is kwa your side.” I find that such a wonderful and comforting thought.

Excerpts:
What if I'd been born fifty years before you
In a house on a mitaani, mtaa where wewe lived?
Maybe I'd be outside as wewe passed on your bike
Would I know?
And in a wide sea of eyes
I see one pair that I recognize
I upendo wewe zaidi than I have ever found a way to say to you
inayofuata door there's an old man who lived to his nineties
And one siku passed away in his sleep
And his wife; she stayed for a couple of days
And passed away
I'm sorry, I know that's a strange way to tell wewe that I know we belong
Why I picked it:
I upendo the little senerios in this song. The one about the old man has such beautiful imagery. It is something that actually happens a lot in real life with older couples. I upendo that he thinks that he is the luckiest guy in the world to be with his girl.

And just this once, the whole song
The words have been drained from this pencil
Sweet words that I want to give wewe
And I can't sleep
I need to tell wewe
Goodnight
When we're together, I feel perfect
When I'm pulled away from you, I fall apart
All wewe say is sacred to me
Your eyes are so blue
I can't look away
As we lay in the stillness
wewe whisper to me
Amy, marry me
Promise you'll stay with me
Oh wewe don't have to ask me
wewe know you're all that I live for
wewe know I'd die just to hold wewe
Stay with wewe
Somehow I'll onyesha wewe
That wewe are my night sky
I've always been right behind wewe
Now I'll always be right beside wewe
So many nights I cried myself to sleep
Now that wewe upendo me, I upendo myself
I never thought I would say this
I never thought there'd be
wewe
Why I picked it:
There were no part of this song I could justify taking out so I had to post the whole thing. The lyrics are nothing short of perfect. I don’t even know where to begin.
