I saw the sun flash off of the kisu and into my eyes. I clamped my eyes shut and waiting for my life to end. Nothing happened. I opened my eyes to find Hans staring at me with resentment in his eyes. "What's the matter Hans? You'd rather turn me in?" I scoffed. It's not like I wanted to get killed kwa this demented dane, but I was a bit confused at him. He sat up, "Skipper..I can't kill you..you're the only friend still alive." he admitted with a sob I knew was fake. I narrowed my eyes in paranoid suspicion.
"Hans, let me get this straight. wewe set me up as though I had actually KILLED one of my superiors, then wewe got me arrested, and just now wewe nearly took my life. And now wewe say wewe don't want to kill me because I'm your FRIEND?" I stood up, "This isn't realistic enough Hans. So what's the trick?" Hans knelt on the dock in silence for a momment, then whispered, "Let me tell wewe something." I didn't budge, "Go on." I urged. Hans motioned with his wing, "Come closer." he requested. I hesitated, then decided to stay put. Hans looked up at me, "Vell, don't ou trust your old chummy fun-palio Skipper?" he asked. "You're not my 'chummy fun-palio'. And no, I don't trust guys who bring me 'this' close to death". Hans sighed, "I didn't think you'd understand." He started bawling like some pathetic hatchling. I stood firm. Then I noticed the gaurds were getting closer. I glanced at the Green Bucket and debated leaving Hans in his own baby-ish tears. I started walking away. Suddenly Hans leaped up in a blur. I wheeled around just in time to see a flash of light on a blade. I ducked a scoche too late and the kisu slashed across my face. I ignored it and jumped up to grab the edge of the ship. Hans lunged for me, but I managed to pull myself up and over the edge. Hans flapped his wings and darted up towards me. The Green Bucket suddenly lurched and puttered out of Hans' reach. He reached out and snatched up a wing full of empty air before falling down into the freezing cold water. He surfaced and shouted, "I'll get wewe 'Skipper'! There's novhere wewe can hide from Hans ze puffin!" A chill went down my spine as I watched the shores of Denmark fade in the distance. kwa tomorrow, I'd be rid of that place forever. I vowed I'd never set foot in Denmark ever again.
