Percy Jackson & the Olympians Swali

Has anyone ever thought of this?

If Athena, in Greek mythology, is supposed to be a virgin goddess, how is it she has so many demigod children, including Annabeth, in the PJ&O series? Unless they're all born from Athena's skull as Athena was from Zeus' ?

au did Rick decide to not have Athena be a virgin in his series? If that's the case, it doesn't make sense how Artemis doesn't have her own demigod children in the books, really. Why make one normally virgin goddess have children and not the other? This confuses me.

Is that why Annabeth's known as a "brain child"?

Yes. She was born from Athena's brain and then was sent down to her mortal father in a golden cradle.

u can go 2 ways with this: Athena is and isn't a virgin at the same time... she has, as Annabeth so lovingly puts it, "brain children". Artimis , according to legend, is the "True" virgin goddess. (so is Hera, but we wont get into that)

She is a virgin goddess. Her kids litterally spring out of her thoughts. There is no . . .. um . . . non virgin process . . . when Athena connects minds with a man then a child springs out of their thoughts.
Annabeth mentions this in the fourth book, I think. But I can't really describe it.
