Hunger games?

My Marafiki invited me to go see the movie Hunger Games and I really want to go but...
My dad doesn't know of he should let me go. He's ok with it being PG-13 but he wants to know to what extent it is. Like there's violence but how much? I just want to know if wewe think the movie will be something he'll bite?
