Chapter II
The value of life lessons is surpassed only kwa the value of life itself.
The shine of the sun can be seen through the holes in the walls after all, my dad is a poor samurai and I am distend to grow up the same, au at least that’s what my dad tells me. It may be against the normal ways of the government but I think the shogun may promote me if what I do for him is important enough. It’s not like I wan to live my life as a samurai that is as poor as dirt like my father. I hear a knock on the door. I get out of bet feeling a little bit light headed. I pick up my swords and put them in my belt. I get up slowly. I didn’t sleep well after the excitement from yesterday. I hear the knock again and a women’s voice calls “Ryuu, Ryuu” I open the door and see that Sakura is standing there with her mother. “Hello Sauka-san and hello Sakura.” I alisema “So are wewe ready to go now Ryuu.” Sakura said. “Go where?” I said. “To Edo, remember. Don’t tell me wewe forgot about our trip to Edo” Sakura alisema “no I didn’t forget, I just couldn’t remember it at the moment.” I alisema “oh yeah I believe that” Sakura alisema sarcastically. “Well sure wewe do, would I ever lie to you.” I alisema just as sarcastically. “Like when wewe told me that sake wasn’t alcoholic and I drunk some and I god drunk.” “Ok I admit that was mean I’m sorry. But wewe weren’t the only one drunk that night.” I said. “Well it’s a good thing wewe quit drinking au I might have left this side of Kyoto already, wewe where so rude when wewe where drunk” she said. “Well I’m glad I stopped, wewe are my only friend and I can’t afford to lose you.” I said. “Well let’s go to Edo.” She alisema with excitement. “Edo is that way right” she says. She walks to the west, “no Edo is to the east” Sakura’s mom says. Oh I can tell this is going to be a long trip. “first wewe will Nagoya wewe will pass Mt. Fuji then Yokohama then travel north from Yokohama, wewe will arrive at Edo” alisema Sakura’s mother. “Well wewe seem to have things planned out Sauka-san” I said. “Well if wewe didn’t know my husband has traveled there a few times so I just know the best route” Sakura’s mother said. “Ok, let’s go to Edo.” I say as I grab Sakura’s arm.
Ok so I found that traveling is no fun, Sakura wants to stop and talk to strangers and stop to just look at the flowers. I don’t have any objections to her wanting to be social au anything like that but can’t we just keep moving please I want to make it to Nagoya kwa tonight. I feel a tap on my shoulder; I turn around to find a samurai wanted to get my attention. “Hello, wewe are a samurai?” he asked me. “No, I’m just carrying two swords around for the sake of breaking the laws.” I say sarcastically. “Well than I should punish wewe then.” The samurai said. “That was sarcasm.” I alisema “of course I’m a samurai.” “Well I have been looking for a duel so I can sharpen my skills, do wewe mind a bokken duel au do wewe want to use real swords?” he said. “Well no point in killing each other, I just didn’t bring my bokken.” “That’s ok wewe can use mine.” He hands me a bokken with fancy designs all over it that seem to be a family crest. I take off my swords and hand them to Sakura. He takes off his swords and asks Sakura if she wouldn’t mind holding his as well and she didn’t object. I point my bokken at his face. He points it at my chest and trusts his bokken at me. I use mine to knock his to the side and I thrust my bokken at him but he dodges and pulls his bokken around and swings it downward but I block it with a forceful blow from below that made him lose balance and I thrust at his chest again but he falls over to dodge the attack. I redirect my bokken to where it is pointing at his chest in his new position but he rolls over and my bokken hits the ground. He jumps up and tries to slash downward but I step to the side and slash at him from the right and he tries to turn his bokken to counter my dodge but I hit first making me the winner. “Wow I haven’t been beaten in a mitaani, mtaa dual in a long time; wewe are such a good swordsman especially for your age.” He said. “Say what brings a man so young out here?” “I was requested kwa the shogun himself to visit him in his castle.” “Do wewe mind me coming along; it sounds like a good way to improve my swordsmanship.” “I guess wewe can but just don’t slow me down.” I alisema to him as he grabbed his swords from Sakura and he hands me my swords.
