For her Harper's Bazaar interview, Selena surprised mashabiki kwa saying she finds it hard to open up to people. Keep kusoma for the reason why and more!
About growing up and leaving her teenage years behind:
"I'm getting older, though I don't look it at all—I hate it now, but I'll upendo it later.”
One big part of growing up is falling in love. Selena shared what she thinks of love:
“I believe in love—yes, I'm one of those girls. Most of my Marafiki believe in love. I went out with Katy Perry last night. She's so fun and awesome, but it's cool to see someone older believe in upendo too. She is all about it, and that's how I will always be. I believe in stories like, 'Oh, I met him in Starbucks.'”
Even though in theory meeting a cute guy at Starbucks sounds easy, Sel admits that it's really tough for her to open up to people and fall in upendo because she has a hard time trusting people:
“It's hard for me to tell myself to trust people and be open, because I don't. That's one of the negative things about this industry, that makes wewe very scared of everybody and their motives. It's sad, but that's how wewe have to protect yourself."
Luckily, Sel has Marafiki around her, from A-listers like Taylor mwepesi, teleka and Emma Stone to Marafiki from when she was little from back home:
“It's good to have both. It's great to just pick up a phone and call Taylor and say, 'I have people following me, and I'm having a bad day,' but if I were to say that to someone else, it's like, 'Oh, boo hoo.' But it's nice to have people back nyumbani that grew up with me too."
Sel also talked about fashion. Her three style icons? Gwen Stefani, Rachel Bilson, and Charlize Theron!

Movie: Ramona & Beezus
Release: 2010
Rating: *****
Ramona & Beezus was one of the best sinema I've ever watched of 2010 & I'm not kiddin'. Selena's portrayal of Beezus went smoothly with Joey King's Ramona. The movie should have been a great big success with being the Disney princess's theatrical debut onto the big screen. Everyone has only 1 debut & Sel had hers perfect! I'm hopin' my fave ever idol the best of luck in all her future movie roles. :)
As wewe watch through the entire movie wewe can understand how Selena took the character & made the role her own. Her chemistry with the others in the main cast is perfectly in line. There were no mess-ups that I could spot.
