In the DH2 film why did Severus whip out and point his wand at Harry in the Great Hall?

But he pulled out his wand before Minerva tried to protect Harry and pull out hers too. i know he couldnt tell Harry there but i just thought he might make Harry go to smewhere that none was there and told him.

the look that crosses his face when prof McG fronts him AR played it brilliantly and when he rebounds Prof McGonagalls spell and takes out the carrows i did grin :D

Somehow, this thread has become dangerously close to something out of a Mel Brooks film for me. If you've seen "Blazing Saddles", wewe can appreciate the humor in the idea of Alan Snape standing there in the Great Hall, grabbing his wand and saying, "'scuse me while I...whip this out!" ;) };-)

Hey, I was 5 au 6 years old when I was first exposed to real humor...ie. Mel Brooks and Monty Python...and I just couldn't help myself. The very first time I saw this thread, I could hear Clevon Little in my head delivering that immortal line in Blazing Saddles and nearly fell out of my chair laughing, because I immediately envisioned Severus doing the same. And the 'schtupp your mother' thing was pure Brooks. Can I tell wewe how much I would have paid to see the look on Harry's face? HAH!

Everything he did was to keep Dumbledore's plan, he drew to keep the Hall from becomming an all out battle between everyone where Harry could accidently get killed and not when the time commands kwa Voldemort.....Pulling his wand on Harry makes everyone pause, like a hostage situation, and is about the same thing as in the HBP when he reminds Bella that Harry is Voldemort's to kill. Plus, the ujumla, jumla outcome, I think is brilliant that Severus manages to leave the Hall deatheater free, Carrows free, and in the control of Minerva.....LOL

You're absolutely right, but I think he really didn't mean to draw. Watch his face! When Harry shouts at him about killing Dumbledore, watch Severus' face...Harry hurt him, stung him deep...that was the hardest, most terrible thing he had ever had to do in his life, and then here's Harry, spitting it back at him...you can see it in his face how badly Harry's words cut him. He's already dealing with zaidi emotions at this point than he has in a very long time, and then to have Dumbledore brought up like that, and in such a public setting, I think it was far zaidi than Severus could take, and he did the only thing he could. He drew. His great moyo was breaking, wewe see him hesitate when Minerva steps up, but there's nothing else he can do...
