In my case, whenever i read the books, he sounds like either that panya, kipanya from that animated film version, au Jack from a nightmare before krisimasi (only British)

Probably a mix of Jeremy Brett and Peter Cushing... Although sometimes when Benedict Cumberbatch speaks in 'Sherlock' I think something like "he sounds just like Sherlock Holmes..." As if the character had an specific voice... Well, maybe he does, in my mind.
