My Life As Oceana 2
Oceana, Brad is here. Dad yelled.
Thanks, I'll he right down. I yelled back.
I quickly slipped on my mashua shoes, grabbed my cell and stuck a tube of chapstick in my pocket.
hujambo Brad. I alisema whil coming down the stairs.
wewe look cute. He said.
Thank you. I said.
He gave me a quick kiss on the lips. Brad didn't carethat he kissed me infront of my parents because we've been together for a year.
Curfew is midnight. Dad alisema as we walked out the door.
Yes sir. I called back.
wewe actually look hot! Bradtold me as he opened my door.
Thank you. I alisema feeling myself blush.
wewe smell really good and wewe look extremely cute. I said.
I try. He said.
The color of your fishing shati really brings out the color of your eyes. I told him.
And to what color would that be? He asked.
Ahh, let's see. Maybe a piercing crystal blue. I said.
Thank you. He said.
Brad was such a gentlemen sometimes. He always opened my door for me and complimented me even when I didn't look my best. Like one time I had just woken up, I had on no makeup whatsoever and I was still in my pajamas. He told me that I looked cute. I didn't believe him becuase my hair was absolutely messed up. When we got to the beach, pwani Brad opened my door for me and helped me out of his Toyota 4runner. He held my hand as we walked all the to where everyone was.
Cody was on the Lacrosse team with Brad and Kylie new Cody through me but they were together now and Summer is with Chad. Although there were tons of people at this party there were different social groups. Like all of the lacrosse team plus their girlfriends sat together and then the rest of the school was sorta paired off weirdly. We sat around the moto for a while and roasted some marshmellows Wave had brought. Brad grabbed my hand and we started walking slowly along the shoreline.
Thank wewe for bringing me. I told him.
No problem. He said.
We walked a little ways and then we sat down in the sand and talked somemore.
Do wewe want to go surfing tomorrow? I asked.
Sure. He said.
There is suppose to be a nice swell here in the morning. I told him.
Sweet. He said.
I rubbed my hands against my bare arms. The breeze was chilly.
Here take my jacket. He told me.
It's okay, you'll get cold now. I said.
I'm wearing longsleeves. He said
You're wearing a fishing shirt. They're made for the breeze to go through them. I said.
Yeah but I'm not the one in shorts and a polo. He said.
Brad stood up and took his koti, jacket off and then sat behind me and wrapped his arms around.
Thank you. I said.
It was quiet for a little while and I rested my head on his shoulder.
I upendo it when wewe wrapped wewe arms around me. I said.
And why is that? He asked.
It makes me feel salama and loved. I said.
I'm glad because wewe will always be salama and loved when you're with me. Brad told.
I turned around and gave him a kiss.
I can't believe it is almost 11:30. I said.
Really? He asked.
Yeah.
Do wewe want to go sit in the swing on your front porch for a while? Brad asked.
Sure. I said.
We got up and slowly walked back towards party. Once we had told Wave that we were headed back nyumbani we went to the car. Technically I didn't have to be nyumbani till midnight but dad had never told me that Brad couldn't stay later. Brad drove nyumbani and then we went out back and sat on the beach, pwani behind my house.
I'll be right back. Im going to get my iPod. Brad told me.
Okay.
Brad ran andgot his iPod and came back. He turned the volume up and stuck it in his pocket.
May I have this dance? He asked.
I smiled, stunned. Sure I had danced before with him but it was kinda odd.
I would upendo to dance with you! I said.
At our school we had set dances. Yes I know, you're probably thinking Long beach, pwani Highschool they have ballroom dancing. Yes we have ballroom dancing and we can't dance any other way at the dances our school has.
We danced the tengo which Brad was amazing at. He is so graceful and everytime we dance it's like he walking on clouds while I'm tripping over air.
I'm sorry. I said.
I stepped on his toe. No matter what dance he was leading me in I am always clumsy enough to fall flat on my face. And that is exactly what happened next. Luckily Brad caught me before my face hit the ground.
I'm hopeless at dancing. I told Brad.
It just takes time to learn it. He told me.
