Long ago, when all Mbwa mwitu loups lived together, a cat appeared to the four alphas who kept the Mbwa mwitu loups united. He told them they would each have their own pack. So they did. Three of the alphas, River, Terra, and Flame, each took some of the great pack and mgawanyiko, baidisha them to three territories. River took the white-coated ones to the mountains. Terra took the coyotes to the forest. Flame took the hybrids -the Mbwa mwitu loups with domestic dog DNA- to a shifting forest that placed them across the area.
