In ALW version of Phantom why is Raoul a Vicomte? plus zaidi questions...
I mean he has no older brother to be the comte so why isn't he just Comte Raoul de Chagney? Hell Raoul doesn't even seem to have any family to speak of in Webber's version. Guess that takes care of the problem of them not wanting him to marry Christine out of class status, thus taking away some character to Raoul that he was willing to be with her even though his family didn't want him to.

Why does The Phantom drop the chandelier? he has a reason in the book (that isn't used in ALW version) later when he threatens Carlotta that her imba will "bring down the chandelier" well she runs off stage getting the effect he wanted Christine in the role of the countess. It seems he only knocked it down for spite after Raoul and Christine's "All I Ask of You" no#

Why did Christine want to hind her engagement with Raoul? In the book she was protecting him from Erik because she had told Erik that Raoul was just a friend and also that she was never going to marry. In Webber's version its not really clear why especially since everyone thought The Phantom was gone/ dead. The Phantom even mentions it at the beginning of "Why so silent?" when he alisema 'did wewe think that I had left?'

Why do Christine and Buquet describe the Phantom as being distorted, having hardly a face/ yellow parchment and no nose when for the most part it isn't true? hell Webber makes one half normal! are they blind?

Why do the mangers try to appease Carlotta after Christine's triumphant? (even though I upendo her character I have always wondered this) You'd think they'd let her cool her jets and just have Christine perform for a while and have Carlotta come crawling back, I mean I suppose she could threaten to go elsewhere but The Opera Populaire was THE theatre and anything else would have been a downgrade.
BTW these where asked in the frame of mind of the stage onyesha not the movie, but I suppose it could work either way.
