Who doesn’t love to daydream about our favorite actors from other TV shows landing a guest starring role on

? Sure, chances are they show up only to be killed off – this is Mystic Falls, after all – but once in a while guest stars live to see another day or season, and sometimes they even end up a regular! (Looking at you, Malarkey.) We picked a handful of actors (and one singer) we’d be thrilled to see on TVD, so check ‘em out below and let us know who YOU want.

is in its final season (sniffle), and we prepare to bid adieu to Queen Donna Meagle forever, Retta could go from livetweeting “the VampyDs” to strolling into Mystic Falls herself. The town still needs a mayor, right? Have we ever seen the owner of Scull? Who is this Mystic Falls High School principal that people claim to have talked to on the phone? Who owns the three newspapers in town? Or maybe another uber-badass vampire/werewolf/witch needs to stroll into town and kick butt, take names, and dress down Salvatores.

A long time ago, a network canceled a wonderful, beloved, classic (etc., etc.) TV show called

. That network was the CW. To the CW’s credit, they’ve given Jason Dohring some (non-Logan Echolls) face time since then – he’s guest starred on

, under his belt, so he’s well-equipped to cross witty one-liners with the fanged denizens of Mystic Falls. Could he be a dangerous foe from Stefan’s past? An old drinking buddy of Damon’s? Or perhaps another Hot Professor job could open up at Whitmore?

You may remember Ki Hong Lee as the funny, devoted BFF Paul from another Alloy Entertainment series,

, but more recently he’s been tearing up the big screen as Minho in

alongside Dylan O’Brien. We’d love to see his lethal combo of comedic chops and swagger in Mystic Falls, whether he was teaming up with our faves against a common enemy, or if he was that formidable opponent.

You can currently see Jessica Parker Kennedy mingling with pirates on Starz’s

, but we miss her flaunting her supernatural powers on our televisions. Her former

co-stars Phoebe Tonkin and Shelley Hennig have moved on to explore their hybrid and werewolf sides on

, respectively, and we’d love to see Kennedy revisit her CW roots by landing in Mystic Falls with an agenda of her own.

Callum Blue is no stranger to great genre TV, with memorable roles in

, just to name a few. He’s a busy guy but we’d love to see his particular brand of scruffy, English charm drop into our supernatural-loving hearts again on TVD. Former Army buddy of Enzo’s, perhaps? Or another Whitmore professor?

in its final season, we can’t help but hope that Jenna Ushkowitz makes her way east to join the vampire-werewolf-witch mayhem in our favorite crazy Virginia town. Maybe between tearing up the stage in musicals, TVD can find a place for her multiple talents amidst all of the blood. We’d love to see her in a role that lets her physically kick some ass.

This Canadian actor is a frequent guest star on American television screens, most recently appearing on

as Margot Verger, a woman desperate to scheme her way out of the clutches of her sadistic pig (and face-clawing) enthusiast brother. But Isabelle has a special place in the heart of genre fans everywhere;

fans will recognize her from her guest appearances on those shows, while others will forever be devoted to her star turn in the cult classic werewolf film

, in which she is the definition of badassery. We’re not saying Alaric needs anymore ladies-with-supernatural-issues in his life, but…um,

Sinqua Walls’ beta wolf Boyd may have met a grisly end in

season three, but maybe he’d have a fighting chance on

? (Haha, just kidding, everybody we love dies.) He’s currently starring on Starz’s

, but we think Whitmore College needs another hot student with a shady past.

Look, we’re about to upset you by entertaining the possibility that Mystic Falls may need a new sheriff in the not-so-distant future. Now, calm down, Liz Forbes could pull through this cancer and everything will be sunshine and roses, but we want to remind you that this is

and the writers like to rip our still-beating hearts from our chests on a regular basis. So bear with us as we daydream that Hettienne Park, late of

, takes over as Mystic Falls’ sheriff and develops an entertainingly combative relationship with one Damon Salvatore.

Mystic Falls has had a severe ginger shortage as of late, and isn’t it time Mystic Falls or Whitmore College had an official street performer, ala Grant Lee Phillips in

? Okay, that’s a pipe dream, but imagine this: There could be an entire episode devoted to Caroline landing him a gig at Scull and Kai could threaten him into only singing nineties covers over a montage of our characters exchanging longing/loaded looks, just before someone dies or a building burns down.
