Shouldn't moonlight kill vampires?

My theory is that its not "light" that harms them but the uv rays the sun emits. Where humans get tan, Wanyonya damu get burns. Since moon light is a reflection of the sun it doesn't have the same uv rays that harm vampires. Its also why we dont get moontans lol :)

Good point and I'm gonna go with twilight102's guess because for all I know it's always alisema the SUNlight will kill them. For all I've understood it HAS to be a direct sunlight. In other words that daylight as it is, is not yet the thing that kills - if the sun is hiding behind clouds, they can survive. But that is so unpretictable and for short times that they better just stay completely covered up during daytime.

Thats actualy quiet a good point. Could it be that the moons light isnt as strong as the sun light and is maybe not strong enough to effect them . ?

I think that sunlight creates the daytime, and since Wanyonya damu are creatures of the night, they are repelled kwa it. Since moonlight has to do with night, it wouldn't harm them.

Because the moon & the sun is different. Duh lol the Sun is over a trillion degrees hot up close. Not to mention the UV rays the sun gives off.

Wanyonya damu are never burned kwa sunlight. This is an inaccuracy started kwa modern media. In reality, Wanyonya damu gain greatly increased stamina, strength, and energy, as well as expanded mental capacities kwa nightfall, due to the sunlight being "purified" kwa mercury in the moon rocks on the surface. When faced with direct sunlight, their powers are canceled out, and they become lethargic, slower and weaker than a regular human, and bleed internally if they try to attempt overworking themselves in daylight. Shade does little to negate the effects, but does give a breather.
