Chapter 20
Let the games begin
“What are wewe doing here?” I ask.
“I could ask wewe the same thing,” America majibu crossing her arms and giving me a pointed look. “Zyanna.”
Now right then, my moyo did stop. “What?”
“Oh, don’t act stupid Zy, I know who wewe are.”
“How…?”
America looked confused. “You mean wewe didn’t send me that link.”
“What link?”
“Someone gave me a text that was a link, it was of you. wewe were with this cute boy and…the killer…the one from the shed. And there was a ton of things that wewe should really see.”
“It was anonymous?”
“It was, but please tell me it’s not true. wewe can’t be the killer, au working with the killer, au whatever the hell wewe have to do with the killer!”
“America-”
“We confided in you, and wewe betrayed us, wewe just played us. Tell me, did wewe plan all this?”
“I would never-”
“You can’t be, it just doesn’t make sense. Did wewe see us, like we saw you? Are you-”
“I’m not the killer!” I yell, causing the whole lobby to look at us. I did a little fake laugh that Azerien taught me. “Why don’t we continue this game outside.”
I pull on her arm and I’m surprised she doesn’t protest, we ignore the perplexed looks and shaking heads, it’s better if they think this is a game rather than for what it really is.
We go to a deserted place, it was a huge space of nyasi with a lake on the right. America smoothed her casual dress and sat down, she patted a spot inayofuata to her, “continue.”
I must’ve had a weird look on my face because she laughed. “Just explain, just because wewe might be trying to kill us doesn’t mean I don’t upendo wewe no more, because I do.”
I gave her a grateful smile as I sat down inayofuata to her. I took a deep breath. “I’m not the killer.”
“We’ve established that.”
I sighed. “My father is.”
America took an intake of breath. “Your father?”
I nodded. “He’s always been a…tortured soul. He had started killing when he was kicked out in high school, he never…stopped. He married my mom had Azerien my older brother, and me and my fraternal twin.”
“Bellaire?”
“How did wewe know?” I ask, astonished.
“Found her on Twitter,” America alisema sheepishly, “it was easy to make the connection.”
“Well, anyway, he took Azerien and I, and we’ve been living with him ever since. We always went wherever he went, money was never a problem. We moved here, to his hometown, because he told us too.” I felt tears prick my eyes. “We never snitched, we never disobeyed him. He used us, and he’s trying to make Azerien into a monster, just like he is.”
“Why?” America asked, rubbing my shoulder’s and wiping tears I hadn’t noticed.
“To carry on his legacy, apparently the female species are weak. I didn’t say anything because I loved him, and…I was scared. wewe guys were the closets Marafiki I’ve ever had, I couldn’t choose, I hoped things would blow over. But they didn’t. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you.”
“No, sweetie I’m sorry. For giving wewe a hard time, for making wewe feel scared of losing your family, I’m so sorry.”
“But what wewe were doing, it’s right. He doesn’t deserve to choose who lives and dies, he’s not God. We have to stop him, all of us, together. I know now, I accept it, the legendary killer will finally be behind bars, and wewe guys, Azerien and I, will live our lives.”
“Zyanna-”
“It has to happen, we can’t let him continue killing people, and…he wants to kill wewe guys because wewe saw him.”
“Not even a surprise,” America says.
“And I think he wants to kill me too.”
“Whoa, your kidding right? He really wants to kill his own daughter?”
“He’s killed his parents.”
“Then screw him, Zy, are wewe ready to catch the legendary killer?”
“Let the games begin,” I say flashing her my most evil grin.

We are going separate ways.
We must leave each other,
Though I regret it,
There is nothing either of us
Can do.
We are going separate ways.
The bright light shines in our futures,
For the separate ways we go
Are the best for each of us.
We must leave for the good of it,
Though I don't want to,
And I know wewe don't either.
But it is important that we do.
It is never easy
Doing what we do the worst,
Leaving each other,
And the thoughts that we are...
Best friends...leaving each other...
We must go our separate ways.
For our own good.
And we pray that one day...
We will meet each other again.
And we will.
We must leave each other,
Though I regret it,
There is nothing either of us
Can do.
We are going separate ways.
The bright light shines in our futures,
For the separate ways we go
Are the best for each of us.

And we will.
On a starry sky
In the moonlight
At midnight
When I think of you
My moyo beats faster
For there is no one like you
Who makes my siku perfect
Make my body to go numb
Lose myself
And forever hold that smile on my face
Its true that we are
Now on our separate ways
With the promises aside
That we'll meet again
For again might also mean
The inayofuata moment
au maybe never
wewe may songesha on
Find your perfect princess
In this imperfect world
But to me
You'll always be
My prince charming
And thus the swali remains
Should I songesha on?
Should I forget?
Is this the destiny of my life?
Only time will tell
But until then
You'll hold a fragment of my soul
For my mind wants to songesha on
But my moyo stays persistent
That you'll one siku turn unto me
In the moonlight
At midnight
When I think of you
My moyo beats faster
For there is no one like you
Who makes my siku perfect
Make my body to go numb
Lose myself
And forever hold that smile on my face
