Have wewe ever created a character wewe hated?

okay, there's a character that I've created and I absolutly despise her, but I can't throw her out 'cause she's important to the story, I just want to know if anyone else has experianced this.

Personally, no, it hasn't happened to me. When I create a character I empathise with them, because I need them to be realistic and deep. Even if they're evil. I believe that when wewe write the villain, wewe have to be the villain. wewe have to understand why your villains act as they do, wewe have to know that if wewe were them in that situation, wewe would do as they do. Your vilains have got to have SOME sympathestic characteristics, au else they will come out flat and unrealistic. A real person won't just wake up in the morning and say: "Oh, ok, let's just be mean and ruthless and destroy some other person's life." Something led them to be as they are, and as a writer, I have to know what that something is. That doesn't leave me much room for hate.

As about what wewe should do now, I think MephilesTheDark covered the most of it exactly. In my opinion, disliking the character might mean that there's something wrong with them, and that wewe should work zaidi on giving them depth. (and yes, character devolopment is my obssesion :D)

Of course!

Its usually the villian and wewe can't take the villian out because the villian is so important to the story. Thats usualy who it is because of the whole hero-villian thing.

The villains I create, I dispise, because that's what my main character feels, and when I write I slip inside her shoes until I click save and the little X in the above right corner of my screen.

Some "good-guys" have those traits, like sexist au mary-sue, that makes me zero-in on them and want to slap, but in the end I am rather proud of my characters, and of how I've created and developed them.

Oh, yes, but it's always been my villains. I always take it as a good sign. If I created him and I don't like him, then I've done my job.

Kinda. Most of my charcters who aren't completely good are kind of 'not too great'. Really most of my villains aren't characters, they're problems that need to be overcome. However there is a proper evil person in the one I'm uandishi now. She's really, really evil and I would hate her if she was a real person!

Not really. I think I have the problem that I put myself too much in the position of the villains to feel what they feel and understand their reasons. Maybe this isn't a real weakness of me as the mwandishi but I always have to be very careful with the way I write, so that the reader won't feel too much with the villains.

Well, not really to be honest.
I mean, sure. There are definately a few characters I don't like as much as others I've created but I need them (usually) and I personally think that if wewe hate someone and intende for OTHERS to hate him/her your own dislike of that character becomes important as wewe tend yo use negative language to describe them and in their speech and actions.
True, I think that wewe should harmonise with the character in some way to have the character in sync with the rest of your story but your own personal dislike of the alisema character will usually stir up the same emotions in others and your story will have the effect wewe wanted.

Yep! Melanie Anderson! I'm A Girl Who Hates The Drama Filled-Lying-Backstabbing-Bitches! But I Chose To Write A Story From The Point Of View Of A Girl In High School! Naturally, There's Gonna Be A Lying-Backstabbing-Bitch! I Can't Completely Hate Something I Created Though! So I Gave Her A Few Good Traits! Honestly, How Can wewe Not Hate At Least One Character You've Created? I Think The Stories Are Always Better If Every Character Is Different And Has Their Own Story To Tell! Let's Face It, Not Everything Is All Bright And Shiny! So, In My Opinion, Every Good Story Has A Character That The mwandishi Hates! I Created zaidi Than Just One! But Melanie Anderson Is Without A Doubt My Least inayopendelewa Character I've Created! But After The Book I'm Going To Write When I Finished This, I'll Have A Girl Who's Worse The Melanie Anderson!
