It started as an outbreak in South Africa and made it's way into the United States kwa means of infected game. All it took was for one of the creatures to escape and bite a human and now the world is in ruins. What was once New York is now a barren wasteland. Filled with the very undead that once made the city proud, twenty survivors - mostly teenagers - have to fight to stay alive. Which won't be easy when there's danger around every turn. Starting off with nothing but a few cases of food, amo, and dynamite, they travel around in a suited up eighteen-wheeler, their only means of protection. With traitors in the group, the zombies aren't the only thing they need to worry about, for something far zaidi sinister is at work. Something that's been going on since the beginning of time. The ultimate superhuman. Hawk Eye is the new girl in the group. Her and her older brother, Barricade, were found hiding in a grocery store when the group stopped to gather supplies. Hawk Eye's knowledge of guns and weapons and Barricade's nerves of steel make them valuable to the group. But even with her new family, a place where her talents are accepted and welcomed, Hawk Eye still can't help but feel restless. There's something stirring deep inside her, something the group rebel can't help but notice. She's not alone. The kids and teenagers of the group soon start to exhibit strange powers, no doubt from being affected kwa radiation. With great power comes great responsibility - something Hawk Eye learns as they travel through the U.S, seeking survivors and, hopefully, a way to escape from the futuristic society they once considered home.
