I swear this could last forever. XD I could take this and do it SO many ways. But since it's Tara, I'll do the more...unexpected way.
She stared at him, the beating of his moyo strong under her hand. She looked back down at the diary in her hand, head shaking slightly. Then she giggled. Her giggle turned into laughter; not cruel au bitter, but instead being joyful noise.
Her laughter took him kwa surprise and she pulled her hand free just long enough to songesha the hair out of her face. She turned back to him with a smile. His blank stare had twisted to surprise. She laughed just a bit as she stood.
“You say wewe read this?”
She held up the diary and saw the surprise turn to urgency.
“Y-yes but I assure wewe it was not intentional!”
She set the book on the desk, back facing him, but he could hear the smile in her voice.
“You read it but wewe think there are only ten reasons?”
“P-pardon?”
She faced him and the smile on her face had reached her eyes.
“You read it and think there are only ten reasons as to why I upendo you?”
He blinked and stared at her. She came to stand infront of him, slipping her hand into his.
“You're asking me to forgive wewe for kusoma my upendo for you. And wewe know I would. But wewe have nothing to be apologizing for.”
She placed a kiss on his head before moving to sit at his side.
“I had never thought wewe would come in when I was sleeping, not that I mind. I just didn't think of that possibility. But that note was never going to be a secret. I think everyone can see it on my face when you're around.”
A light blush spread across her cheeks as she alisema that, but the smile never died from her eyes. She leaned mbele and pressed her lips against his cheek, the skin dry but smooth. She saw the surprise die away and it was replaced kwa understanding.
“And there are so many zaidi reasons as to why I love. Much zaidi than the ten wewe saw. But we'll get back to that later. I have a swali for wewe first.”
She paused and her eyes, though smiling, darkened in what could have been regret. Her concern confused him but he didn't interrupt her until she had spoken what was on her mind. He didn't want her thinking her words were nothing to him, even when he just wanted to keep her in his reach forever.
“I want to know why wewe told me a few of the reasons wewe upendo me now. Not that I don't believe you. I do. What made wewe say that? I'm flattered, but I want to know. Did wewe think wewe had to au what? Did what I write make wewe regret something or....convict you? Because that's the last thing I would ever want to do to you.”
She paused and let herself calm before finishing.
“I don't want wewe to lie, so please tell me. Did my words hurt you?”
Her face giving way to the pain that she would feel had she made the words come out of him for any other reason besides his upendo of her, for her. And the pain he saw there made him think back to the nights they were apart and he would look up to see the moon's lonely face in the black skies.
