We finally get an interview of Jake, I really over exicted and can't wait to share with you, ForsakenMoon19. The title of this interview does mention Interview-Jake Abel II, so I believe there would be a part one or something that would be released shortly:D

As you can see, this interview took place when Jake was still filming the movie which just released from Dream Work. This makes me think they will perhaps release more Jake's interviews during the promotion right before IANF hits the cinema. It is only about 20 days to go for you to enjoy the movie:)

I also like Jake's V-shape stripe T-shirt and he must wear this in the film as well, concidering this is an on-set interview:)

Yes he looks soooooo adorable in that shirt and I loved how he talked a bit about Mark's transformation. From what it sounds like though Mark finds out about John in a different way compared to the book but still at least they stuck to the basics. I know I'm gonna enjoy this movie and he totally hit the hammer on the nail when he talked about his character redeeming himself in the end to help John & Sarah, I love that!! I think Jake was the perfect choice to play Mark and here's why becuz he has that charisma and relatable vulnerability that draws you in when you watch him. Even when his character's are badguys, Jake still manages to win you over (his eyes do alot of that too) so that you love him more than you hate him!! I love this character and I'm sooooo happy Jake is playing him in the film adaptations!! Can't wait to see how he developes Mark James in later sequels!!!:D

I have been waiting for Jake's interview, wanting to know how he thinks about this character he plays. I know he won't disappiont us and He has such deep thoughts by playing Mark, just like how you pointed out about Mark's transformation via the whole book before. He even used the heavy word "Redemption" to describe how Mark tries to save Sarah in the end. Come on, Jake, don't be too hard on yourself and your character is not an criminal. That is true Mark was an ass at school in the beginning, but it wasn't completely his foult, considering his upbring and people around him causing the insecurities. He is lucky that he met John who understands where he was coming from and helped him when his house caught on fire. So he can finally stop acting tough and be himself again.

Talking Mark redeeming himself to help John&Sarah in the end, I don't know how the director can prove this. As we can see either from b-roll or Jake's previous interview at MTV moive award, Mark no long gets involved in the final battle scenes and I don't know how they prove Mark's redemption to save Sarah without letting him in the final fighting scenes. In the b-roll of making final fighting scenes, I only saw John, Sarah, Six and Sam, no trace of Mark at all which is so different campard to the book and that made me mad!!!

Yes I agree, thoes scenes are very important and I was very angry to hear they were taken out!! Now this could also be that Jake isn't allowd to really talk about his parts in the end but either way he's gotta be in the action scenes at the end becuz he escapes with John, Sarah, Sam and Six before the 3 of them take off on the road. Another thing Jake mentioned that really stuck out is whenhe said that things in the script could change again, maybe they found a way to place Mark back in the action becuz in order to redeem himself where it concerns John & Sarah he has to be apart of whats going on!! So until i see the movie I'll have a verdict if the director made the right choices with Mark's character. He is just as important as Sam & Sarah so his scenes need to be in the movie, reading the book I was really looking forward to them!! Thoes action moments helped prove to me that Mark had a good heart and courageous spirit, willing to risk danger for his friends. You know what else I'm thinking when Jake talked about his encounter with the Mogs, I think that is the scene where Mark is convinced John is actually a good guy so he then invites him Sarah and Sam to his party. I could be wrong but that's what it sounds like they're doing:)

I hope they've made the right decision with Mark's character by not changing to much from book, like you pointed out. The other thing is opposite to me, campared what you predicted. I think Mark meets Mogs that would be right after the party.Because in trailer 2, there is a few scenes where Mogs smashes one police car' window, tring to grab a man from it, then drag this person to aside, next scene is Mark's face being grabed. I think that man from the car must be Mark, mogs come after him first because they finds out the news about Mark family's fire and the vedio about John on youtube by that nasty newsrepoter and then Mark goes to John to confirm. I could be wrong too, but it's interesting to see how they are doing in the film:D

I think you could be on to something just like me, we both have theories about how this is gonna play out so it'll be fun to see the end result. Either way there are three crucial moments Mark experiences, the Halloween scene (aka fight in the woods), the house party and the end battle where they all tackle the bad aliens and escape. They have to put thoes moments in the film, how else do we see Mark at the end in the cemetry with John, Sarah amd Six?? That's at the end of the movie so he's gotta be involved!! I don't think that B-roll footage was acurate as the John & Mark scene in the clip was completely different. The B-roll could be negatives, takes they didn't bother to use in the finished movie. I wanna be optimistic about Jake's roll in this movie and from his interview he sounded very enthusiastic, especally when he said Mark wants to save Sarah and gains his redemption in the end. You can't gain redemption if you do nothing so he obviously has got to do a little something extreme:) Lets cross our fingers the director got this right!!:)
