The time passed and the siku was bright now, the sky illuminated and clear blue, highly visible through the tall evergreen treetops. The brisk morning air surrounded Eight and his sleeping beauty in his small dugout as he watched her. The siku was still, but cold, even as the sun beat down it couldn't penetrate the blanket of dense air that clung to the earth.

Eight, now having moved from lilac only slightly to get a better view of her, sat in wonder and awe of just how lucky he was. It only just now occurred to him, He had faced what he thought would be certain death in the shadow of a Mountain Lion and there was no doom, he had found this place after weeks of aimless travels and they took him in, he had survived the crushing blows of the largest hulk of a kubeba he had ever set eyes on, and only just now in this moment - this very moment, did he realize how lucky he was. It wasn't the survival that made him aware, but this lovely vision before him.

She slept on and on for a good long while since he had been awake but began to stir lightly as the chill of the morning air now filled the space where there was once the heat of another. She cracked her eyes sleepily, barley moving, gaining her vision she saw Eight smiling down at her, his tail beginning a soft wag as she woke up.
She caught a glimpse of him smiling and quickly covered up her face with her tail, hiding an embarrassed smile of her own.

"Stop staring at me, wewe freak." She said, her voice cracking as it too woke up.
Eight quickly came back with mock melodramatic gestures,
"But how could I NOT gaze upon such beauty!" He over-acted each of his movements, taking her paw into his hand kneeling down in the small space between them and kissing it, he looked at her, his green eyes and wide goofy grin accompanied kwa raising one eyebrow, then the other in an alternating fashion, "AMOOORRREE!"

lilac squealed and pulled her paw from his, pushing him with the other as she rose momentarily scuffling with him,

"Cut it out!" She laughed, "I'm going to tell Deogee that wewe need to be busted down to Omega if wewe keep that up!"

Eight grinned for a mgawanyiko, baidisha sekunde and put on an overly-painful look on his face as he continued to joke about,
"I KNEW it! You're only interested in my power as a Beta!"

lilac sat up in the pango and looked at him with a straight face,
"Well, I guess now is as good of a time as any to trade up for an Alpha..." She put her paw on her chin, pretending to think deeply. Eight stopped abruptly at this joke and wagged his paw at her,
"You..." He started, sitting up normally, "You're good..." He chuckled and shook his head.

"Well we Omegas have to have a sense of humor, don't wewe know? Its an ancient secret training technique that only Omegas have access too... Guarded kwa centuries from the Alphas!"

She spoke, spinning a grand tale, gesturing in the air as she spoke about the secret spanning the ages and just as she got close to Eight, she leaned over onto him, her story at an end, her playful, ice blue eyes looking up at him with a silly grin on her face just before they both broke into laughter. Eight took his own paws from beneath him and fell the rest of the way to the ground, and lilac on juu of him, staring as their laughter came to a soft end.
They looked at one another for a moment and she laid her head on his chest.
"Thank you, Eight." She whispered to him, a wide smile on her face as she took in his scent.
"Thank me? For what?" He asked.
"For making me happy." She replied, picking back up and staring into his eyes before nuzzling up along the side of his face. He returned the nuzzle into her soft, silvery-white fur, manyoya just before she got up to her fours. He followed he lead.

The two stood and made their way out of the den, stretching as they emerged. lilac eixited first and tickled Eight's nose with her tail with a giggle as he sputtered.

The siku had progressed quite a bit, the rest of the pack would surely be up kwa now, which meant that the Omegas would likely be around their site.

"So..." lilac began, facing west, parallel to the mti line, "Wanna go hang with the guys?".
Eight smiled and faced that way along with her,
"You read my mind."


With that, the couple tread on toward the western Omega's site where they spent most of their days delighting in any brand of tom-foolery they could imagine. Eight couldn't think of a better way to spend the siku than with a gorgeous mbwa mwitu kwa his side and his Marafiki there to hoot an holler.



The two bumped one another every so often as they walked on, in and out of the trees, pushing and playing, laughing and joking the whole way.
