Avatar The Last Airbender Article: I think i know where Zuko's mother is

At the end of Sozin's comet part 4, when Zuko asked Ozai "Where's my mother", I knew he would not have an immediate answer. This eluded to a possible continuation of the series, au at least another show....but this was not to be. Happily, Dark Horse had picked up the reins and led us onto the further adventures of our inayopendelewa gaang. After years of wondering and waiting, we are finally able to embark on yet another life-changing field trip with Zuko-actually it's Azula's turn-to quell that swali that has burned in our minds for so long.
amid the back story and our troop's various distractions, I am starting to see clues to Ursa's possible whereabouts.
Looking back at Sozin's comet part 3, as Azula is preparing for her coronation, Ursa appears to her in the mirror. We see Ursa speaking to Azula as if she's in the room, but at the time, just chalked it up to Azula going insane and having delusions. In the tafuta part 1, again we see ursa appear to Azula and speaking to her-these are not bila mpangilio ramblings going through Azula's mind, but actual conversaions. Again she appears to Azula in a reflective surface.
throughout this story, our gaang has encounters with creatures from the spirit world, and this story seems to lean heavily on this.. They will continue these encounters in part 2, but for those who have not read this chapter yet, I won't go too far into this.
just looking at the direction this story is going, and thinking about what has already taken place in the ATLA series, I am inclined to think that Ursa is somehow trapped in the spirit world. her only connection to the other side is through a reflective surface. If so, then she has not truly abandoned her children, but has had no way of contacting them, and of course, Ozai honestly does not know where she is.
Ok, that also brings up zaidi questions; why hasn't she appeared to Zuko, will she be able to come back? I think since Aang, being the Avatar-may be instrumental in this. There's probably some other holes in this theory, let me know what wewe think.

paintbrush12 Wait! she MAY HAVE appeared to Zuko!!! In the episode "the Earth King" Zuko is suffering from a fever...he is restless and having strange dreams; Ursa cries out "Zuko, Help Me!" as she fades into darkness. What was thought to be just a nightmare may actually have been her calling out to him as she was being pulled into the other side!

Azula’s nose was still throbbing. Throbbing and likely broken.

And it would seem that Tang-Shin had no intentions of providing any real medical care. So she’d have to sit there and suck it up. She was used to bottling feelings up anyways, how hard could it possibly be to ignore a broken nose? The mental agony was usually thrice as painful anyhow.

She lie on the floor in the corner of the room with really nothing to do but think of the pain. It must have been super early in the morning as they hadn’t come to give her, her ‘medication’ yet…

Azula was still asleep inayofuata to Cheng when Zuko lead the others to the lower floor. He couldn’t say for certain whether au not Cheng was sleeping too au if he was simply lying awake waiting for Azula to do the same.

Zuko knew it wouldn’t be long before his sister woke up when P’Li bounced down the stairs. She skipped right on over to the sofa and with her tiny hands, shoved Cheng to the floor so she could take his place. Naturally the plan had backfired when Cheng dragged Azula down with him. She landed face up on juu of the man and woke with a startled cry.

Azula lie face down on her bed. Her eyes were closed but she wasn’t actually getting any sleep at all. The dull whispers in her head were all too loud.

The whispers, despite what many would assume, where not formed of her own insanity…but of the people she’d overheard on the streets. Their words were harsh and refused to stop echoing and replaying in her head.

Whenever she tried to focus on something else, their words would resurface.

It had only been two days since Zuko had bought her home. And thus far, a horrendous letdown.

Yue awoke the inayofuata siku to the sun shining through the windows. Today was going to be great. The sun came out and today zuko got out of the healers. She got dressed and her and zuko went to breakfest but something was different about zuko. she couldnt put her finger on it. then hours later, when she sat alone in her room with her artic fox, mbweha it hit her! Zuko's scar! where was it?! As she thought, of the complication her eyesight fell black and her hearing blacked out. Then she fell unconsiously. She awoke to find herself in the healers hospital. Still shocked of the thought, she began to read her notes. As she read the writers she read zuko, and everyone else but on the last one it alisema . . . hon?!
