So KataraLover and I were talking about Azula's blue moto and about this Frozen-esque theory that Ursa tried to hide the fact that Azula could bend blue fire. So I made a thing.

“The girl is strange Ozai.” Ursa muttered. “I’ve never seen anyone do that before.”

Ozai tugged at his beard, pacing about the room. “Strange? That’s power like I’ve never seen!”

It had been well over an saa since their parents had slammed the door on them and started their chatter. Azula stood there with her ear to the door until one of the palace guards directed her away. zaidi specifically led her to Zuko’s room requesting that she play with him until her parents sought to talk to her.

In truth Azula…for once, hadn’t meant to cause a stir. She was just doing what she was told—to practice her bending. She’d never seen her mother look so mad and so confused.

The guard sat her down inayofuata to Zuko. It would seem he wanted to play with her just as little as she, him.

And so they sat there in silence, Azula watching Zuko gracelessly swatting that silly dagger Iroh had aliyopewa him around.

Azula sighed. There was never anything to do when Mai and Ty-Lee weren’t there. And that was how she found herself running through her bending techniques. Quick and—unlike Zu-Zu—graceful. The moto erupted from her palms and dispersed in the air. Jumping and kicking moto mid-air was always one of her inayopendelewa moves.

She landed at her mother’s feet.

The woman grabbed her wrist. “No zaidi of this!”

Zuko’s attention was now drawn his eyes filling with a smug twinkle…finally she was getting in trouble and not him.

“No zaidi of what?” Azula grumbled.

“This!” She made a sweeping motion. “This blue fire. Firebend to your heart’s content, just keep the blue out of it.”

“I can’t!” Azula protested. Leave it to her mother to make her feel like there was something wrong with her. She was pretty proud of her blue moto at first. But with each scolding Azula felt zaidi and zaidi at unease.

“Azula!”

“I can’t. I tried the first time wewe told me. I can’t make it go back to machungwa, chungwa anymore.” She pouted.

“Lo and Li figured as much.” Ursa muttered zaidi to herself than Azula. “Then we’re just going to have to make something up.” She looked down at Azula (whom was still sticking her lower lip out in a full on pout). “I’ve never seen blue moto before. It’s evil, it has to be. I don’t know what we did to the spirits to have them do this…”

“Nor do I.” Ozai smirked, coming up behind Ursa. “I don’t know what we did to have them bless our daughter with such power.”

Azula wrenched her hand out of Ursa’s grasp and ran to stand kwa her father.

Her father...the one who didn't make her feel like a freak--like her abilities were evil...

***
Ursa had gone behind her husband’s back the siku after. She had assembled a good sized crowd. It wasn’t the whole of the Nation , but new in the Firenation spread as quickly as the element they all marshaled.

It would be enough.

Ursa stood before the crowd and told them of a ‘tragic’ accident that took place a few nights before. One that bought gasps and stunned looks to the listeners.

And that was how Azula became known to the world as a nonbender.

Apparently, during one of her training sessions she overworked herself and had ruptured some of her key chi points…therefore blocking her own ability to bend. Not only that but she supposedly couldn’t walk right either—but that was ‘something the healers would have fixed soon’.

Azula told Ozai not to leave. She knew her mother was waiting for the right moment to put the lie out in the open.

Now Azula was that clumsy screw up who couldn’t bend nor walk.

“It’s for your own good.” Ursa claimed that night. “If they found out about your blue flames…Agni knows what they’d do to you.” She brushed a hand over Azula’s hair. “I was afraid for you, baby. I’ve heard about people who can make moto from their heads! They take people like that and try to turn them into weapons…or they try to display them like circus animals. I don’t want wewe to get hurt.”

“So wewe told them I can’t bend?” Azula huffed, her arms folded over her chest.

“There are plenty of very important and famous nonbenders out there…”

Azula zoned the rest out, suddenly zaidi fascinated with her mto and the notion of sleep.

She could hear the two fighting long into the night. After Ozai found out about the rumor Ursa had spun the man set on giving her hell—telling her of how she just wasted so much potential and how she really messed up this time.

Azula heard a slap.

And then zaidi angry words.

She had a choice; Azula could either go with her father and onyesha the world she could in fact bend. au she could heed her mother’s words and keep it a secret.

In the dark of her room she let a small blue spark dance around her finger.

It felt right.

It felt strong.

She could keep it a secret for a good long time. But Azula knew well and good that her flame would burn blue for the world to see eventually. The only swali was if it’d do so sooner au later.

From distance away Ozai watched his daughter marshal the sapphire flame.

A grim grin etching onto his face.

Be it tomorrow au when the child was older, she would set the world up in blue flames.

Perhaps it's a little ridiculous to over think the reincarnation aspect of The Last Airbender, but something about the concept has always bothered me.
I'm not a new Avatar fan; I was introduced to the series about five years zamani when I was just discovered manga and anime. My Marafiki and I all enjoyed watching/talking about the show, and needless to say I became somewhat attached to the players. The onyesha is so well done with great storylines, animation, dialogue, and characters, but has anyone ever wondered what reincarnation means for the friendships and upendo interest of Aang's current life?...

"We're under attack!" Hakoda yelled to the village.
The men readied themselves for the fight. Aang grabbed his staff and ran out of the tent, Katara at his heels, holding Haruki. Aang turned around and stopped Katara.
"You and Haruki have to get out of here." he told her, "Get the old, the sick, and the young out of here on Appa."
"Aang, I won't leave you!" alisema Katara.
"I can't fight not knowing if you're safe," alisema Aang, hugging his wife and son, "Katara, please."
Katara looked at his eyes, kissed him, then ran off, collecting the children and old in the village. After she got all the children...

Hi, all! This is a sequel to "The Moments Ahead, Part 4: One Stormy Night," but wewe don't need to read it to understand this story.

Aang and Katara lay on the grass, looking at the stars in the midnight blue sky.
"They're pretty, aren't they?" Katara asked, nuzzling Aang's neck.
He smiled at the girl he loved so much. "They sure are, but I have something even prettier in my arms," he said.
Katara smiled and they shared a deep, passionate kiss.
Aang smiled into the kiss.
The fiery liplocking lasted a full twenty seconds. It was the longest, and kwa far the most passionate, kiss they had ever shared....

Tears stung Aang's eyes as blood trickled out of his body. He was dying. zaidi importantly, he was going to be taken away from his one true love.
"K-katara," he choked, "I'm scared."
"No, Aang...you'll be fine," she said, but her voice was full of worry.
Aang was crying full-force now. "I...I don't think I'm going to make it!" he cried.
"Yes, wewe will," Katara said.

"Aang?" Katara asked. "What on Earth are wewe doing here...and why are wewe shaking like a leaf?"

"I'm...afraid of storms," Aang confessed.

This is just around where my story begins
This is a warped version of the episode 'The Drill'. Note that I start the story near the end of the actual episode.

--------------------------------------------------

Azula picked Aang up and pinned him to the ukuta of Ba Sing Se. She grasp his should with her left hand, and with the other, produced a blue flame. Just as she was preparing to strike, Aang regained most of his consciousness.

His vision was blurred, but as it cleared, he could see, and feel the heat of the flame. He arched his fingers, and tried to grasp the wall, and preformed an Earthbending technique. Earth gathered and eclipsed...

This kwa far was the most epic episode I have seen in the entire series. Starting with Aang and Zuko's firebending training, right down to the final scene with Katara and Aang(nearly cried, but was clapping). It even seemed that Sokka's jokes were funnier! In my opinion, the best battle was Azula and Zuko's. The best moment was definetly a tie between Prince Zuko being introduced as the moto Lord and the Final scene with Katara and Aang(no spoiler). The most epic moment, definitvely was the scene when Aang was securing moto Lord Ozai and taking his bending skill away. Strangely, it can't be the end! Zuko met up with his father at the end to ask him about his ,supposedly dead, mother's whereabouts.

The zaidi days that passed, the wearier Azula grew. She was tired of long flights on Appa listening to the Water Tribe siblings bicker. She was tired of setting up camp on chilly nights. And of finding some space to sleep that provided enough distance from the gang. But that always left her a distance from the moto and heaven forbid she tried to start her own.

She was tired of sleeping cold.

Most of all she was tired of trying to sleep with her mother talking so loudly in her ear.

Azula folded her arms over her chest, waiting for the Avatar and his Marafiki to mount Appa. She huffed in disgust....

Azula’s nose was still throbbing. Throbbing and likely broken.

And it would seem that Tang-Shin had no intentions of providing any real medical care. So she’d have to sit there and suck it up. She was used to bottling feelings up anyways, how hard could it possibly be to ignore a broken nose? The mental agony was usually thrice as painful anyhow.

She lie on the floor in the corner of the room with really nothing to do but think of the pain. It must have been super early in the morning as they hadn’t come to give her, her ‘medication’ yet…

They hadn’t come to give her, her medication!...

It had been a long time since they'd done anything as a family for the holidays. Zuko glanced over at an old family krisimasi photo. It would be just he and his mom this year.

Katara, Aang and Sokka all had plans to go back to the water tribes and enjoy some good old fashioned snow. Who could blame them, what was krisimasi without snow?

A moto Nation Christmas, he answered himself.

He couldn’t complain, couldn’t miss something that never was.
