A better option for this question would be Zuko vs. Sokka. That is a debatable one...

My thought on it is- while Zuko did try to please him, Azula wouldn't even argue against his judgement. If he wanted her to do something, she did it without complaint. She named a city after him, she's willing to betray a sibling, most of the actions she took were in his word or in order to make him happy. Zuko still spoke against him even when he still wanted his praise- he just didn't look up to him like Azula did. I think Azula was so willing to follow him because he was the only parent that gave her attention and made her feel special. In Sozin's Comet, Azula and Ozai both seemed shocked that she spoke out against him.

It does take a lot of mental strength to go back to your father even though he did so many horrible things to you, though- I give Zuko that.

^Your point makes sense. I was thinking about mid-series when I answered this poll, that's why I chose Zuko. He was so crazy, hotheaded and the biggest jerk to everyone because he was so driven to capture the Avatar, just wanting to please his father.

^Yeah, I had to pander about it for a little bit. I think low self esteem really drove him as well, especially since everyone keeps telling him that he's useless and foolish. There's also the being banished for 3 years thing, and he just wanted to go home.

yeah well let me put if this way if my dad was the firelord and he would have burned my face and banish me the only thing I would wanna do is burn my fathers face not pleasing him by going after a guy who at the time wasn't seen in a hondred years so I would say zuko tryed pretty damn hard to please his father
