"Beep, beep, beep," was all heard when I woke up. I can't stand alarm clocks, but since my mother and siblings refuse to wake me up in the morning because they're "allergic to sunlight" I have to use one. As I rolled over to turn my alarm off I heard a crinkling sound coming from underneath me, like the sound of paper being balled up. After my alarm was off and I was sitting up, I looked down, sure enough there was a note addressed to me that I had rolled onto. It was in my mother's handwriting, which only meant one thing, we were moving again.
I can't believe it, I thought we had finally found...

A/N: This poem/song was inspired kwa two things: 1) A few of my inayopendelewa anime couples, namely Ed x Winry from Fullmetal Alchemist and Hoshino x Tanabe from Planetes. And 2) while my dad was in Iraq, he heard "My Immortal" for the first time and alisema he loved the idea behind it...but it was too sad/depressing because "the chorus was in past tense instead of present tense." So he asked me if maybe I could take the same concept and do my own thing with it. I guess this is it. XD Depending on how wewe look at it, this could be a close friendship, a romance au something in-beteen.

I wasn't really...

nobody understands love,
nobody really believes.
wewe can't put a price on the way people make wewe feel,
but wewe can always say:
i upendo you
but what does it really mean?
those three small words?
to many people it's just
i care about you
isn't that easier to say
than make someone believe
you'll always be there for them
that they are the sun, the moon, the stars
that they will be the person that wewe want to be the last person to see before wewe die?
is it so hard to NOT make someone believe
that wewe will always be there for them
that wewe will be the one that they need
for life
for eternity
forever?
inayofuata time wewe say
i upendo you
mean it
because if wewe don't
your just hurting yourself
and the person that wewe say it to

this will be the last chapter i post... the rest you'll have to read in the published book when it's done being written and comes out

Music was playing when I could feel again. Abigail was lying on my kitanda with me, playing with my hair.
“Bobby will be nyumbani in two hours. I called him when wewe stopped responding to me.” I recognized the song, it was Bobby's favorite. He had told me that I was who it reminded him of.
I looked away from Abby, ashamed. “I can't believe how selfish I am. He was finally where he wanted to be and I dragged him away...

the time we have is so very precious...
wewe can blink au turn and it is like a whole lifetime has passed
a fiend whom has helped me in so many ways has, in a blink of an eye it seems
has gotten older and i have trouble seeing that time has passed so quick
even now the newer Marafiki and family it seems change in a blink
wewe are left wondering where was i when did all of this change........
in the siku to siku routines of life sometimes wewe can forget how precious life, friends, family, even your pets, and just people wewe meet can just be so different; the inayofuata time wewe really take the time to...

Black Roses

At the end of the day, the sun slowly set, painting the sky in a brilliant upinde wa mvua of colors. She looked across the golden field, staring at the horizon. Her expression was that of one who is looking for something, but cannot figure out quite what. A slight breeze stirred the tall grass, creating the semblance of waves. Her hair moved slightly as she looked down at her lap, and the three black roses that lay upon it.

The roses meant something, of that she was certain, but she did not remember, not yet. It had been...

This is a poem I wrote today, 7 May 2008. Feedback/analysis is welcome.

********************

My eyes have been thirsting for you
These long lonely years
My ears have strained to hear your voice
The boy's enthusiasm for his lover
Has not sagged but rather swelled
With deprivation

Memory paints you
Perfect in wit, charm
Desire

Today I saw wewe briefly, from afar
I had to avert my eyes
Lest I be consumed
My ears heard your distant laughter
Through all the other noise
In that crowded place

I know that memory lies
But still I shivered
With longing and remorse

Today I also heard of the other man
Now in your life
Somewhere...

So one may au may not recall that a few months ago, I ilitumwa link that I wrote in my high school years and my freshman mwaka of college. The purpose of this was to compare it to the work I was required to do in my poetry class (a pre-req for the creative uandishi track of the English major). Since I recently discovered that I was accepted to the track (yay for me!), I decided it was time to post the results of that poetry class to compare to my other poems.

Rulers of Darkness

Hunting. The best word in a vampire's vocabulary.
    “Ready?” Abby asked me expectantly.
    “Ready.”
Our eyes dilated and all of our senses were down. I crouched low, listening, the world no longer had any secrets. Wind rustled leaves, a storm was coming in a couple of days. A deer grazed peacefully, not what I wanted. Abby attacked a grizzly. Nope. Finally, I heard it. A pack of gray wolves.
Wolves were my inayopendelewa drink. They always hunted in a pack, a canine family. Something that...

Rulers of Darkness

I sat there, watching, waiting, listening for the sound of Abigail calling me. She didn't, she just stood outside my door letting me cool off.
I smiled, I'd wait for her to decide to talk to me, patience was one of my best abilities. Of course, I had to learn patience while others were sekunde nature, but time had perfected it.
Abby waited, but her toes tapped impatiently on the other side of the door. I heard her sigh and knew I had won.
An involuntary victory smile formed on my face as the door knob turned....

Preface: I wrote this in tenth grade, when I was sixteen. So it was about four years ago... Comparing it to link which was written four weeks ago, it's interesting to see the changes in those four years. I would upendo to discuss that. I've updated it for Fanpop, editing and tweaking it from the original which can be found link.

It was probably nothing different to little Ellen, munching ever so innocently on a good-tasting set of keys in the corner, surrounded kwa blocks and the spilt contents of her poor mother’s purse. Mrs. Shaw had neglected to put the mfuko wa fedha, mfuko out of her dear child’s...

The Mona Lisa

The Mona Lisa is one of the worlds most famous art pieces but at one point it was stolen kwa a man who thought that Italian paintings should be shown in Italy and not France so… when he was all alone in the room where the Mona Lisa was so he took the painting and stuffed it under his smock. It took a week for the museum to find out that the painting had gone missing. I think that ever since this painting went missing museums have zaidi security then they did then to protect zaidi thefts.
I think that this connects to chasing Vermeer because “the lady writing” it on the go and Calder and Petra think that it is not salama just like how the Mona Lisa wasn’t salama in the museum in France. I think that defiantly Calder and Petra would be helpful.

CHAPTER ONE: PEACE OFFERING

CAN wewe TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF?" My mom asked me at the front door.
"Mom, I'll be fine!" I told her.
"Are wewe sure? I can stay nyumbani with wewe and Jared if wewe want." She asked again, and this time it sounded like she was hoping I'd say "no, don't go...stay here with me and tuck me into kitanda and tell me stories to go to sleep to."
"Mom, go! Have a great time! We will be fine!" I alisema and Jared shook his head in approval.
"Alright!" She alisema and she kissed my forhead once more, did the same to Jared, and then out the door to her taxi that awaited her she went. Jared...

Ok Guys! First story ever. Please dont be kind. Tell whats wrong with it and if wewe like it au not. This is just to see how many people will read it.

The bright and blinding light streamed through the gap in the curtains. The light woke Mary as it shined proudly on her pale, white morning face. She rolled over only to see an empty space in the double bed. She was used to this but every morning she just couldn’t resist the nagging temptation to check if her loving husband was there waiting for her to wake. If only he was there with his soft butterscotch eyes and her favourite crooked smile...
