Okay I’m a week late but here is my makala about watching Sleeping Beauty for the first time in years!

Like the makala for Snow White and Seven Dwarfs I will write about;

1. How much I enjoyed/disliked the movie as a child

2. How much I have forgotten

3. Princess (will she be higher on my orodha au lower?)

4. Movie (will the movie be higher on my orodha au lower?)

5. Rating

6. How much has my opinion changed?

7. Would I watch it again?

Tonight's rewatch: Sleeping Beauty
Last time watched: February 14, 2009 (had a movie marathon that day)

So, how much did I liked au disliked this movie as a child?

Well, like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, this was another movie I was too scared to watch as a child, mainly because of Maleficent. She was the only reason I wouldn't watch this movie alone. But other than that, I did like to watch this movie when I was little, mostly the parts in the forest when Briar Rose sang Once Upon a Dream. I've seen some people not take that scene too seriously because she's just dancing with woodland creatures pretending to be a prince. And I have to ask, what's wrong with that? She's having fun playing pretend with her woodland friends, I think that's adorable! I was guilty of dancing with my stuffed wanyama like Aurora when I was a kid because I liked watching her do it. In fact, I actually used to think she really thought her animal Marafiki really were a prince because, to quote my husband when we watched this together, I was just using cartoon logic. There were some things that happened in the movie I never really understood as a kid, like the vichimbakazi putting the kingdom to sleep au the part when Maleficent's goons were talking about searching a cradle, and I used to think the scene where Phillip was captured was supposed to happen before the scene where Aurora pricks her finger because I thought she was just setting a trap for Aurora and that the scenes were just mixed up (don't make fun, I was a toddler when I first watched this :P)

How much of this movie have I forgotten:

Okay, this is something I probably should have brought up in my makala about SWatSD but I can't believe I forgot about how Disney used to start their sinema with credits while the movie's main song plays. The same with the book opening and narration. I hope Disney will do this again someday, even if it's only in one movie. I know in Enchanted they did a book opening but that was animated so I'm not counting it.

I've always loved the three good vichimbakazi but I forgot how sweet and funny they were. Like the dwarfs, each fairy brought something to the meza, jedwali and they were equally entertaining. I laughed so hard when I saw Flora's dress for Aurora and Fauna's cake. I've seen the messed up cake a million times but I had completely forgotten that she hadn't even baked it yet before putting frosting and candles on it. I had also forgotten that Merryweather had the same voice actress as Lady from Lady and the Tramp while Flora had the Fairy Godmother's from Cinderella.

And I totally forgot that Aurora's animal Marafiki straight up robbed Prince Phillip. I can't tell if they just took his clothes to lead him to Aurora but all I know is, they just took his clothes and cheesed it.

As much as I think Aurora and Phillip are an adorable couple, like Snow White and her prince, I can't really upendo them since they just fell for each other really quick.

While the scene where Maleficent put Aurora in a trance and had her prick her finger on the spinning wheel didn't scare me as much as it did when I was a kid the muziki still freaked me out a little bit.

Princess:

I thought Aurora was sweet and I liked watching her scenes and listening to her imba but she doesn't leave much of an impact as the other princesses in the lineup. And while I did feel sad for her when she was told she could never see the "handsome stranger" again, I couldn't take it as seriously as when Ariel cried on the pier au when cinderella cried after her mother's dress was ripped up. Aurora was 13 on my list, and while I didn't enjoy her character as much as I did Snow White, I'm going to bump her up to 11. I know that's not much but I still liked her! I just like the other princesses more.

Movie:

My husband and I had fun watching this together but I'm sad to say we weren't as into it as we are when we watch other Disney movies. This movie is 11 on my orodha and for now I'm going to leave it there. Like I alisema about Aurora, I didn't hate this movie I just like the others more.

Ranking: 5/10

How much has my opinion changed?

My opinion hasn't changed much, I still loved watching Aurora's scenes and I still loved the fairies. This movie just doesn't leave much of an impact on me as much as other Disney movies.

Would I watch it again?

Maybe!

inayofuata week I'll be doing Pocahontas! :)

Hi, I’m Lissabelle (That’s a portmanteau of my first and middle names). I’ve already written one makala but I got super swamped at school and didn’t have chance to write another. (Well, I wrote a sekunde article, reread it and realized I disagreed with nearly everything I alisema and then took it down.)

About Me: I upendo everything from Walt Disney uhuishaji Studios, but the princesses have a special place in my heart. I also upendo kusoma and writing. I consider spending time with little kids a special joy and I like to quilt. I am in the honors au AP equivalent of everything that has an...

Chapter 3:

A boy stumbled and fell in the darkness. His strength was leaving him quicker than he'd expected. He knew his life was ending, but for a long time has not felt his purpose completed; he knew he had something to complete before his death...but what?
Still on the ground with his goggles tight over his eyes, he surveyed the area, having heard something. His goggles' magic was wearing out as well; they were supposed to illuminate his way through the darkness of the Oblivion, but their light was fading with his draining lifeforce.
After he got himself up and dusted off, he slowly made...
