Whether or not she and Pocahontas belong on the spot depends on how you interpret the spot name. Either you feel it means Disney Princess as in members of the franchise that holds that name, or Disney Princess as in Disney characters who are princesses. Most people want the spot to be for the characters who front the brand, so I guess they fit. I wish they'd called the brand something different to avoid all the debates like Disney women or something. I guess the name princess just appeals to the kids more. That's why I don't consider Shang and John princes. Disney aren't claiming Mulan and Pocahontas are actual princesses or trying to reinvent them as such, they are just characters included in that franchise. Since there isn't a franchise for the men called Disney princes there is nothing that gives Shang or John the title. posted zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita.
