I know I am going to get shot for saying this, but I am just saying my opinion here: I really don't understand what is the big deal about Tangled. I saw it twice, and it was okay, average, nothing more. It doesn't deserve all of the praise and worship it gets here on this spot. The characters were not very original, there was a lack of character development and variety, and even the songs themselves weren't ground-breaking. I feel like here, it is measured up to be as amazing as the movies during the Renaissance, but it's really not. I honestly don't believe Disney will reach its peak that it did with TLM, BatB, TLK, HOND, etc. Toy Story deserved to win the awards it did (minus this song) because it told a better story, characters were more developed and more well-rounded.
Just...yeah, I needed to get that off my chest. I am SICK of the Tangled fever. >>
To start saying the whole thing was rigged is a bunch of bullshit. Do you really think the Academy has such a boner for Toy Story 3 that they're going to give them everything? If they thought "I See The Light" was better, they would give it the award. Frankly, I'm shocked most of you guys expected it to win. The song Florence sang was much better, prettier, and deeper. I don't think the Toy Story song should have won, but "I See The Light" didn't deserve it either.

Tangled is not an AMAZING movie, objectively. But personally, I love it and everything about it. So I'm just going to keep fangirling about something I PERSONALLY LIKE, okay? Is that fine? Hope it is, 'cause if it's not then you're going to be miserable for the next few months.
I don't think it was rigged. Toy Story is a much better movie than Tangled, and everything about it, even objectively, was better. I don't like the Randy Newman song as much as I like I See that Light. But that's not saying that it doesn't have a nice beat and message.
I guess I was overreacting. Last night was a really bad night for me, some stuff happened, and this was and is the only thing I can really rant about or get mad about so I did. I'm sorry if I went overboard, my personal life shouldn't accidentally cross over into here =(

I think the Academy awards have affected all of you, last week everyone was just CRAZY ABOUT the movie except some few like princesslullaby and Mongoose09...
I don't care about the Academy Awards anymore, and my opinion won't be affected by it :P

BTW, there are some people who LOVE the movie, but can also admit the song didn't deserve to win (if that's what they think). Just because they like the movie doesn't mean they're obliged to like the song too. It doesn't mean they're switching their opinion.
