Let me explain: Peter is an absolute jerk to Wendy throughout the film. Examples: Peter laughing when the mermaids are trying to drown Wendy, "Get on with it girl!", and so on. I just don't think they're a great pairing. Peter's personality in the sequel is a vast improvement in my opinion.
