The little penguin, auk stood up, and looked at everyone nervously, his big green eyes scanning everyone in the crowd. He edged his way out of the box, a little rucksack on his back.
Aw the poor guy looks terrified. Emma thought. She stepped forward, and smiled at the little penguin.
"You must be the new transfer here, it's nice to meet you, I'm Emma, and these are Skipper, Rico, Private, Kowalski, Tom, and Marlene." Emma greeted brightly, gesturing to each of the animals.
"H...hi I'm Ashley." He said, in a sweet Scottish accent. Emma realised that he was about Tom's height.
"Well Ashley you'll upendo it here, the wanyama are friendly, the habitats, are nice, and the chakula is yummy." Marlene told him reassuringly.
"Really?" He asked, looking less worried.
"Sure, do wewe want to have a tour around the zoo." Private asked him, cheerfully.
"Okay." Ashley agreed looking excited. They lead him out of the inapakia bay, and Emma couldn't help smile. Ashley was really sweet, he reminded her of a sweeter version of Tom, au Private. He seemed a little gullible too. They showed him the habitats, and the other zoo places, like the Zoovenir shop, Alice's office, and the snowcone stand. "Ooh, I remember these!" Ashley exclaimed, taking out a snowcone, and passing them to people.
Aw that was nice of him. Emma thought, taking her snowcone. Ashley got one for himself, and they headed to the HQ. As they went, Skipper explained their elite penguin, auk team, the underground HQ, and who was related to who, out of the team. Ashley nodded in understanding and followed Skipper into the habitat. They opened up the fishbowl, and showed Ashley around the underground HQ.
"It's a real nice habitat." He marvelled, peeping into the lab curiously.
"Yup." Rico agreed.
"Her, urm, Skipper, since we have a new transfer today, can we skip training?" Tom asked hopefully.
"Ugh, fine whatever." Skipper answered, looking frustrated.
"What's training like?" Ashley asked wonderingly.
"Well it can be hard sometimes, but it pays off when wewe become a really skilled fighter." Kowalski replied.
"That sounds cool!" Ashley commented, looking excited.
Pfft I thought the same thing when I moved here. Tom thought, trying not to smirk.
"So what do we do for fun around here?" Ashley asked.
"Well, we watch Tv, get snowcones, draw, listen to music, and we've all got our own little hobbies." Emma answered cheerfully.
"That sounds like fun." Ashley replied, pulling his rucksack off, and taking a Sudoku book, and a pencil out.
"Ooh, wewe like Sudoku puzzles?" Emma asked, excitedly.
"Yep, ever since I was a wee little lad." Ashley answered cheerfully.
"Me too." Emma said, smiling as she took her Sudoku book out of her drawstring bag. The two of them sat down ,and started there Sudoku puzzles. Kowalski sat down inayofuata to Emma, and got his notepad out, and started doodling on it. The others went back to doing their everyday hobbies, and Kowalski wrapped a flipper around Emma, making them both blush. Emma chatted with Ashley as they looked at the grid of numbers. Emma learnt a lot about him in this time. Apparently, Ashley, was born and raised in Scotland, and lived in the Edinburgh zoo. But the zoo became to crowded and they had to ship some of the wanyama to other zoos across the globe. Ashley had to leave his parents, but he was still in touch with them. He won cutest animal at the zoo 10 years in a row. Emma also found out that he adored chocolate, and called himself a chocoholic, and she chuckled at that bit of info. He also didn't like samaki (though he did like chokoleti dipped fish), and that he liked telling jokes, doing puzzles, and helping people. They sat there talking for a few hours, and suddenly,at about 3pm, Julien came crashing through the fishbowl.
"Ugh, why are wewe here Ringtail?" Skipper asked, exasperatedly.
"Becuase my Boomy Box has gone!" Julien told him. "Be finding it now, silly penguin!" He added, poking Skipper.
"Well maybe if wewe asked nicely, he'd be happy to help you." Ashley piped up. Julien looked at him like he was nuts.
"Who's the new silly billy penguin?" He asked Skipper. Julien then turned to Ashley and looked down at him. "I will not ask nicely because I am the king, see?" He explained, pointing to his crown. Ashley looked at Emma in confusion.
"Who's the nutty lad?" Ashley whispered.
"I'll tell wewe later, just go along with it." Emma whispered back.
"Ok team, lets get to work finding the Ringtail's muziki box, commence Operation: muziki Mystery!" Skipper ordered, heading for the ladder.

"But it has teeth too."
It. I thought bitterly that's all they've called me with their sickening tests. I looked at my tattered wings and my pearl colored feathers that were now dyed wine red. It seemed another figure i hadn't noticed saw my red stains too.
"And why is it covered in blood?" there goes the 'it' again.
"Yes, it attacked the other species of its kind kwa digging it's teeth into the others. Even on its own parents."
"...Was this animal tested on before? did it always have these fangs?"
"No mam. It didn't always have those. it just...appeared... I don't know how. But it is having a dysect. tomorrow evening. We can't cure it. It kills whatever it sees, and it doesn't deserve to live."
And that's when I decided I'd escape.
