Is Russell Brand Slamming Marriage to Katy Perry as \'\'Vapid\'\' and \'\'Vacuous\'\' in His New Documentary?

Apparently, Russell Brand has no problem talking about his failed marriage to Katy Perry. 

The 40-year-old comedian is making headlines ahead of the release of his forthcoming documentary, 

in which he is perceived to be mocking his marriage to the 31-year-old pop star, whom he divorced after just 14 months of marriage back in 2012. 

In the trailer, Russell is seen saying, "Oh my f--king god. I\'m living this life of the very thing I detest," before the camera cuts to shots of the English actor and his ex as Brand adds, "vapid, vacuous celebrity."

According to reports, Brand began to question his union to the wildly-popular pop star after traveling to Africa for Comic Relief in 2010, where he came to the realization that his values had greatly shifted. 

"It\'s definitely good I\'m with someone I love. But it\'s not a resolution to anything spiritual..." Brand tells pal Stephen Merchant in the film, according to the U.K.\'s 

. "This is my suspicion, that at some point, to be happy, I\'m going to have to walk away." 

The report also alleges that Brand mocks Perry\'s accent in the film—a moment we seemingly see a quick glimpse of preview clip (head to the 1:20 minute mark). 

The "Fireworks" beauty, who celebrated her birthday on Sunday, has yet to respond to the buzz about the documentary. She previously revealed in a 2013 interview with

"He\'s a very smart man, a magical man and I was in love with him when I married him. Let\'s just say I haven\'t heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011," she shared.  

Brand previously cited "incompatibility" as the reason for the breakdown of their marriage. Perry, meanwhile, has been open about her heartbreak, which was documented in the 2012 film

"I was in bed for about two weeks. I was pretty f--ked, yes. It hurt a lot—I got a good knock," she previously told 

of their split. "What I wanted to call this record [

was so high on that cotton candy cloud, and then it\'s like I got punched in the face and kicked down the stairs a couple of times. So I had to face the reality that things are not always on cloud nine."
