When they 'drop hints' about something they want wewe to do/give/etc to them, and wewe do precisely as they hinted, then they say (usually 'most innocently') "But why did wewe think I wanted that?" Someone who lead wewe up the proverbial garden path like this is NOT WORTH IT.
