Please help me! I am sooo confused!

So, I started dating this guy in the krisimasi holidays. He was a really good friend, and I'd always liked him. But, everyone else in my mwaka hates him, especially my best mate. She can't stand him!
So, no one knows I'm dating him cos we started dating in the holiday. But I'm worried that when we go back to school and people find out, they'll take the mick and I might get rejected cos I'm dating him.
He's a nice guy, and I don't wanna hurt him, but I dunno if I can stay with him! What should I do? Dump him, au stay with him?
