Okay so this is what I think - It was NOT about being honest with Brooke. I've never believed that bullcrap reasoning and with good reason:

Just a few short episodes prior, Peyton promised Brooke that she wasn't going to hurt her again. She saw how vulnerable and upset Brooke was so she had to know that telling Brooke that she had feelings for HER BOYFRIEND was going to upset her very much.

In my opinion, Peyton told Brooke that she had feelings for Lucas because she knew it would fuck with Brooke's head, but she left out the important details, like how she kissed Lucas & told him she loved him, because she was scared of just how angry Brooke would get. Also, because I don't think she really wanted Lucas to know how conniving and manipulative she really could be.

Ohhhh Holly... i'm sorry but your opinion is complete BULLSHIT. You honestly think that Peyton just told Brooke about her feelings to fuck with her head?!? Give me a fucking break you whore! haha just kidding, just kidding....

B) I personally believe that Peyton didn't tell her because at that point, feelings weren't involved yet between LP. She thought the kiss, and the "If I say I love you right now, will you hold it against me" statement was just from being caught in the moment of thinking she was going to die. So therefore, she didn't see any point in hurting Brooke again, JUST over a kiss that supposedly didn't mean anything at the time. As opposed to her actually realizing that FEELINGS for Lucas were still there... which which actually means something. Or atleast that's my theory. Make sense? lol

I guess I see what you're saying Kelly, but once she realized that she had feelings for Lucas... don't you think she should have thought about how much worse things could be if Brooke found out about the kiss from Lucas instead of her, while she is talking about honesty??

^ Yeah... at that point, she probably just didn't want to make things worse than they already were. Not to mention the fact that she probably STILL didn't think the kiss meant anything at the time. But it probably all just came down to the fact that she didn't want to kick Brooke while she was down. "I love your boyfriend... oh AND I kissed him again too!"... I'm sure she wanted to avoid that drama if possible, especially if the kiss really didn't even mean anything. And then ofcourse Peyton obviously wasn't planning on Brooke finding out about the kiss from Lucas either lol

I dunno, it just sucks because it was one of those situations where Peyton was damned if she did, and damned if she didn't. Brooke was very hurt by both Lucas and Peyton back in season one when they betrayed her and she never really got over that during season three even before she found out about the kiss/or even when Peyton told her she had feelings for Lucas. As kellyerin87 said....

Personally for me regardless of what people might think of Peyton in that scene I loved that scene sooo much.Its truly one of their BEST scenes.

^ Oh don't worry... I love that scene too! lol I don't by any means like that she did that to Brooke, or think that it was right... but if we're talking strictly LP scenes, I love it. Lucas protecting her, and Peyton being scared and vulnerable towards him was <3

I do not believe that Peyton told Brooke about her feelings just because she wanted to mess with her head. Why would she WANT to ruin her friendship with Brooke. Their friendship was really good at that point. Peyton told Brooke that she was not going to tell Lucas how she felt. She just wanted to be honest. But, it wouldn't have ended well either way. If she hid her feelings from Brooke, Brooke would have been hurt. But by telling her, Brooke was hurt. I think Peyton just did what she thought she had to do.

Because she's a lying, backstabbing two-faced bitch.

It wasn't about being honest, it was about staking her claim. She KNEW how vulnerable Brooke has always been and she still chose to tell her that she has feelings for Lucas .. yet left out the kiss so she'd seem like less of a whore/wouldn't have Brooke hate her forever. My opinion ;) no one & nothing can change it.

It wasn't about being honest ! I think that this kiss means something for Peyton more not Lucas that much but I think that Peyton was afraid , she was afraid to died and if she kissed Lucas that was because of that fact , she was in love with him and she wanted him to know because of she died . If you were dying and that the boy you love is there with you ( and even if is with your best friend) what would you do ?
And Peyton is not the only bitch in the story of the triangles !

I'm sorry but in this case Peyton didn't need to tell Brooke anything at all. Peyton couldn't have thought that Brooke wasn't going to react to Peyton loving Lucas. It's not something any best friend [[esp. with the BLP triangle/situation in s1]] could hear and be okay with. She knew she was hurting Brooke. She didn't care. Backstabbing, two-faced bitch

seriously i think her telling brooke about her feelings for lucas was all about peyton being selfish. i think that it was her way of being like "well i told her so if i act on my feelings in the future she cant say i never gave her a heads up" loll. idk this mite be my hate for peyton talking, but seriously it was highly unnecessary for her to tell brooke. somethings are better left unsaid. it would have been wise for her to bottle up her feelings cuz she knew what the 3 of them had been thru b4. i think she told brooke about her feelings cuz she KNEW that she couldnt control them, and she knew shed end up hurting brooke in the future. if she really believed she wouldnt act on her feelings than she should never have told brooke about them in the first place. god that selfish whore. loll it was all closure for her, she didnt think about brooke for even a second in this situation. she just opened a can of worms. ohh and i think she never said anything about the kiss, cuz really it didnt mean anything. it was just caught in the moment and her fear of dying alone. but yea the whole letting brooke about her "feelings" part is what i HATED. I can never understand how people can think that Peyton was being selfish when telling Brooke about her feelings for Lucas..it just doesnt make any sense, when you look at what happened after that. Peyton did not say anything to Lucas before she was absolutely sure that BL were over. She even tried to help Lucas get Brooke back. She buried her feeling for a long time. That was selfless not selfish.

As for the kiss, she didn´t really get a chance to tell her anyway..and if she would have told Brooke, Peyton haters would have still thought that she did wrong, she just can´t win.

And she tried being honest with Brooke, clearly that didn´t work so it was better just not to tell her. And as for Peyton telling Brooke about her feelings for Lucas..it was not done to hurt Brooke, she was trying to save her friendship with Brooke by being honest, maybe it was a bad judgement call, but her heart was in the right place. Peyton has never set out to hurt anyone, she has made mistakes that hurt Brooke but it has never been her intention to hurt her. And If the brucas relationship had been stable and had they been perfectly happy together, it wouldn´t have mattered what Peyton said or felt. And Brooke would not have ´gotten that angry. And if Brooke wasn´t over Leyton cheating or didn´t trust Lucas, she should not have gotten back together with Lucas at all. I felt for Brooke and was sad to see her get hurt, but Peyton doesnt deserve all the blame.

^ OH MY GOSH. Perfectly said!!! Every single word... especially the first part. Completely agree!

It kills me how people call Peyton selfish and a bad friend, when ALL she did after telling Brooke about her feelings was try and HELP Brooke and Lucas work things out. No matter if she had feelings for Lucas or not, she never acted on those feelings, or even told Lucas about them until him and Brooke were 100% over. I don't think Peyton was a bad friend, or selfish by being honest with Brooke. She was only doing what she thought was right, knowing how Brooke reacted in season 1 to her DIS-honesty. So, Peyton was honest this time around, and then buried her feelings for Lucas. And then once again, sat back, and painfully watched BL's relationship run it's course... even helping them try and get back together along the way, as much as it hurt her. Sounds like a damn good friend to me.

It's just like what Rachel said to Brooke during that time: "So let me get this straight, you don't have feelings for Lucas anymore. Peyton does. But yet she's willing to hide those feelings, if you asked her to. Sounds like a pretty good friend to me". Rachel also somewhat justified LP's library kiss, telling Brooke that if you think you're about to die, you get a "free kissing pass", or something along those lines. Which I completely agree with. (not that Peyton kissing Lucas was necessarily right), I have a very hard time believing that not every single one of us would have done the same thing that Peyton did that day, if we were in her situation, and thought we were about to die... and the potential love of your life was right next to you, protecting you.

But all the kissing drama aside, as far as being selfish goes... people tend to forget to mention that at that point in time, while Peyton was silently keeping her feelings to herself, Brooke was using Lucas and just stringing him along, all for the sake of purposely getting underneath Peyton's skin. So if anything, (in my opinion) I think Brooke was the one being selfish during that time. Peyton never MEANT or WANTED to hurt Brooke. She meant well, and did what she thought she should do in order to keep Brooke's friendship and respect. Can't say the same for Brooke... she did the exact opposite towards Peyton.

Okay, I'm a total BLer and it was wrong that Peyton didn't tell her about the kiss...but I always felt like she wanted to. It was either that or the kiss actually didn't mean anything to her in that moment coz, well, let's face it: She was almost dying and she had feelings for Lucas anyway, whether she wanted to admit it or not. But if she actually wanted to tell Brooke about the kiss...I think it might've been Brooke's fault as well. Peyton had to begin somewhere, she couldn't be like "Hey Brooke, did you know that I kissed your boyfriend when I was bleeding to death the day of the school shooting?" So she started with the truth about her feelings for Lucas. I doubt that Brooke let her finish with talking, she started to insult her as a "backstabbing, two-faced bitch" and that's it. Even I think that Brooke overreacted, even though it was very tough for her.
I actually believe that Peyton wanted to be honest with Brooke this time around, she wasn't selfish at all! She wanted to do things right this time, well...as much as possible 'cause she already screwed up a lot ( :

The thing about Peyton "helping" Brucas get back together is that she didn't. I mean I honestly think in that situation a good best friend would back off. Peyton should have been honest with Lucas and told him what she told Brooke. I think it would have helped Lucas understand what was happening and then she would have ACTUALLY been honest. And then after that she should have stopped talking to Lucas out of respect to Brooke. But that's just my opinion...

AND because Brooke totally over-reacted and turned into an evil bitch and Peyton didn't feel like devulging what had been her feelings at what she thought were to be the last moments of her life to a girl who had just slapped her across the face.

Peyton didn't want to hurt her friend as much as Brook was already been hurt so many times already!!!

She acted like one. I'm a Brucas but I generally don't hate Peyton but this was a really bad move. She said so many things to Brooke about honesty and not wanting to hurt her again and after seeing all that happened in season 1, she does it again. I still can't believe it every time I watch it.

Because it was never about being honest...if it was, she would've told Lucas what she told Brooke when he asked if she knew why Brooke dumped him...and she was being a backstabbing, two-faced bitch.

Peyton did many mistakes especially in S1 when she cheated with Lucas and I can understand why Brucas fans were angry at her BUT I honestly don’t believe Peyton did anything wrong in S3. I believe this is one of those situations where every choice you take will be seen as a bad one. There were two options:
1. Say nothing to Brooke, hide her feelings until everything came out.
2. Be honest with Brooke, like she did.

I think Peyton did the right thing to confess the feelings she had for Lucas to Brooke. It was really a matter of time till the whole thing came out. A drunken Peyton while listen to a music confessed it reminded her of Lucas, a sleepy Peyton was saying ‘I love you’ without her realising, while talking to Ellie she confess there was a guy she loved which she let go. Her feelings were becoming more obvious, regardless she admits it or not. So I think it was better for Brooke to know directly from Peyton, instead of hearing murmur while sleeping, they lived in the same room after all.

Peyton was willing to let go of Lucas BOTH times for Brooke’s sake. She even tried to amend for her mistakes especially S3. Brooke, on the other hand needs to make up her mind. In S1, she was talking, rightly so, IMO about Peyton being less than honest with her. Now that Peyton was honest she slaps her & cut her out of her life. Seriously what does Peyton have to do to win?

Brooke & Rachel conversation pretty much explain my thought.
B: Peyton likes Lucas.
R: Did she try to sleep with him? 'Cause I did that too.
B: She kissed him. The day of the school shooting she kissed him in the library.
R: Well, by default, if you're about to die, or at least bleeding to death, I think you get a free kissing pass. What else did she do?
B: Well she had the nerve to say she’d back off if I loved him.

From the options above I think Peyton did not want to hurt Brooke by telling her about the kiss BUT she never really got the time between Brooke backstabbing bitch & the slap.
