The pregnant Duchess of Cambridge and her husband will use The Carlyle Hotel as their base when they visit NYC next month
This is the stunning hotel that will be Kate and William’s home from home next weekend when they arrive in New York for their three day trip.
The royal couple will use the Carlyle Hotel on Manhattan’s Madison Avenue as their base as they carry out official engagements in the US from Sunday December 7 to Tuesday December 9.
The swish Art Deco hotel is a favourite of royals and A-list celebrities.
Princess Diana stayed there in December 1995 when she visited New York for the United Cerebral Palsy’s annual dinner and Prince Charles and Camilla also used the hotel when they stopped in the city in November 2005.
Every American President since Truman has visited and it is also frequented by A-listers including Tom Cruise, Mick Jagger and Victoria Beckham.

The 35-storey 1930s tower boasts 188 rooms with stunning views of Central Park and the New York skyline.
The Carlyle website describes itself as “an emblem of New York glamour and luxury.
“Nestled in the heart of the Upper East Side, the hotel is legendary for its first-class combination of discretion and grace.”
Prices range from $675 (£431) per night for two people in a modest Superior Room with a King Bed to $15,000 (£9,580) per night for a stay in the Empire Suite, a spacious three-bedroom duplex which boasts 2,600 sq. ft. of living space and private art collection.
It is not known which rooms the royals and their entourage have gone for but the Empire Suite is not booked out for the dates of their stay suggesting they have chosen more modest accommodation.
All rooms come with luxury Kiehl’s toiletries, bathrobes, a minibar and stunning interior-designed finishings.
There is an onsite restaurant, cafe and the hotel is also home to the legendary Bemelmans bar where celebrities are entertained by top musicians including Woody Allen and his Jazz band.
If Kate, who is four months pregnant, has some down-time she can relax in the tranquil Sense spa, where treatment rooms include the Carlyle Signature Massage for $195 (£125) for 60 minutes and a Sense signature facial for $225 (£144) for 90 minutes.
During their three day visit to New York Kate and William, both 32, are leaving 16-month-old Prince George behind as they carry out a whistle-stop tour which includes a glittering black-tie do, an NBA basketball game and trips to see inner-city youth projects.
The trip is expected to be Kate’s last overseas visit until she gives birth to the couple’s second child in April.
However, William is expected to carry out a solo visit to China early next year to strengthen Britain’s relationship with the country.
A royal spokesman declined to comment last night on where the Duke and Duchess are staying in New York.
