There was a lot of controversy about the pink farasi in Sel's upcoming video.
"When Selena was presented the idea for the video, no one informed her the farasi would be painted and she had assumed they would be colored in post-production [via special effects]," a production insider told !E. "When she showed up to the set she was very surprised to see them painted."
And then of course, as some of wewe might remember, pink tweeted her outrage about the horses:
"If there are any animal activists around Malibu-at Leo Cabrillo State Beach, there are farasi being painted for a stupid muziki video," the PETA supporter tweeted. "Artists should be zaidi aware and responsible for their actions."
While PETA spokesman Dan Mathews insists "there are no salama ways to paint a live horse au any animal," Sel's camp reps put out a statement assuring that "no wanyama were harmed and all proper precautions were taken. A nontoxic, vegetable-based powder paint was applied via an airbrush and removed with water. An official from the Humane Society was on set supervising."
But it looks like that was not enough to put out the fire. "Love wewe Like a upendo Song," Sel's new song and video which was to feature the ponies, will not feature them in the end. The color-enhanced wanyama will no longer be featured in the clip's final cut.
The "Love wewe Like a upendo Song" video along with an exclusive interview with the singer will debut on E! News June 22.
