Just a quick one-shot with Aloysius and Rufus… I guess this is a little bit of a ‘get-to-know’ fic… I was on my way nyumbani from a holiday when I wrote this, and I was half-drunk… Enjoy it, anyway. ^^

Aloysius Knight glowered out the front windshield of the Sukhoi-37 attack plane.
Piloted kwa his trusted and best friend Rufus, the ever patient Porcupine, the Russian mbwa mwitu was somewhat less comfortable with the idea of ‘waiting.’
Flying past at near supersonic speeds, Knight tapped his fingers impatiently on his arm.
“How far?” he growled.
“About 500 clicks to the East.” The blue one replied with a smile, “You need to be zaidi patient, Aloysius, not everything in life is going to happen as fast as wewe want.”
“Wanna bet on it?” he narrowed his eyes behind his glasses, his accent becoming zaidi and zaidi obvious as he got closer and closer to the oft-impending insanity, “I think that, maybe, they will run from me and just get out of my way. Then I won’t have to wait.”
“Yeah… Right. One siku though, someone just as strong as wewe will come across you, and on that day, wewe will understand that wewe can’t get past everything with a Bull-Stopper to the head and an RDX in the chest cavity.”
Aloysius would have smiled as he resumed his staring out the window, “I already have, Rufus.”
alisema being looked up from his controls to the back of his only friend, “Scarecrow? Are wewe still worried about him?”
Aloysius shook his head, “No… The Scarecrow can look after himself. He’s fine… And besides, if he ever needed us again, he would call. I heard that, recently, he’s been working with someone kwa the call sign of ‘Huntsman’, as in, the spider?”
“THE Huntsman? As in, THE Simaya Jake White?” Rufus gasped, using the famous golden Hedgehog’s full name to be 100% sure, “Isn’t he like, the ONLY non-American on the ‘Top 10 Soldiers’?”
Aloysius couldn’t help but chuckle- Rufus always had this way of making each little detail seem to important, “Yeah. Sim. He’s not as good as he cracked up to be…”
“Oh, wow…” Rufus murmured, “The Scarecrow, at No. 5, and The Huntsman at No. 4… Working together?That’s something I’d pay to see!”
Aloysius coughed, and on cue, Rufus grinned as he looked over at the Black Knight.
“Imagine what they could do with our help, too! You’re an amazing Bounty Hunter, Scarecrow’s one of the best hit-and-run Soldier’s around, and Huntsman’s a rare mix of military AND chuo kikuu, chuo kikuu cha trained…”
“He’s not that good,” the mbwa mwitu repeated himself, “Sure, he’s smart, and Australia’s one-man army, but he would totally crack under some of the situations The Scarecrow’s been in. Scarecrow also actually cares about what happens to the people in his unit- wewe know that ‘Motherfucker’ chick? She was offered her OWN unit, but she didn’t take it, ‘cuz she’d rather stay with ol’ Shane.”
“But wasn’t Huntsman on some ten-year mission? Didn’t he like, get a girlfriend and an adoptive kid?”
“Yeah, yeah, true…” Aloysius sighed, “I wonder how they’re getting on? I hear that Sim dislikes most Americans, and Shane’s always really defensive…”
“From knowing Shane, I imagine that they would not get on well…”
“Yeah, but he and his Psychologist are being zaidi than friendly.” Knight grinned.
“Really? Didn’t imagine Shane was the type to get a new girl after Gena’s death…”
The mbwa mwitu couldn’t help but flinch as that was mentioned. They had seemed so perfect together… Shane and Gena, Gena and Shane. One couldn’t go without the other, they had never been apart.
Aloysius blamed himself, to a degree, for letting his guard down on that day… He had been too slow to get a shot off. Jonathan Killian had been too quick… Not like he mattered anymore. Shane had made sure to that.
“He isn’t. She loves him, and he likes her as a friend… But, no, there is zero chance of him ever being in another relationship.”
“Kinda like you?” Rufus retorted, his mouth obviously ahead of his mind, “Oh… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it like that… I-I…”
“Don’t worry about it.” Knight replied as he forced the painful image of his own wife, Thel, from his head, only for it to be quickly replaced kwa two, smiling mbwa mwitu pups. His pups. Gone, dead, just like Thel…
An anger rose within him. Yin and Kyn, his two little boys… Dead. His fault.
If only he hadn’t…
Not like that could be changed now. 8 years, it had been… Wow, they would be 10 now…
No use toiling on the past, Aloysius… He told himself.
“Hey…” Rufus interrupted his thoughts, coming over to give him a pat on the back after leaving the plane on Autopilot, “You know… Shane has a little boy right now…”
“What!? Really!?” Aloysius spun around in shock, jolted out of his grief.
Rufus smiled, “Yeah, apparently, before she died, Gena gave him a son. His name is something like… Uh… Asan? Izuen? Ah, Azuen. Yeah, that’s it. Azuen. Shane named ‘im.”
“Wow… Who’s looking after him?”
“Dunno…” the Porcupine alisema with a shrug, going back to the controls, “Oh… we’re here.”
“Really? That was faster than I expected…”
