Chapter 14
Football games and gym days
“GO! GO! GO! GO!”
I groaned. “Oh, come on guys, it’s just a stupid game!”
“A stupid game!” Adam yelled, and Ryler nodded his head enthusiastically. “It’s football!”
I roll my eyes. “So?”
“So?” Adam mimicked. “This game is sacred! Awesome! It’s football!”
“It’s also too long,” I whine. “I mean like, I upendo it, I really do. But sitting around is torture, especially if your team’s losing, why can’t we go back to this channel after it’s done.”
Ryler looked at me as if I’d grown two heads. “And miss something important? Uh, no honey, sorry.”
I rolled my eyes as they started yelling again, and watched in amusement kwa their reactions. Luckily, since they were football freaks they let me skip school, it was a Monday so it kind of didn’t matter, most Jones’s loved to skip that day.
I get up from the couch, “I’m going to get a snack.”
“Prosper,” both boys alisema at the same time.
I grunted once I saw the front doors of my school again, it’s not like school sucks but sometimes when I get to school I just feel like turning around and going back nyumbani to be lazy. But school’s important, I’m stuck with it for a few zaidi years.
Beth smiled at me happily, she hugged me. “Hey, chickie chick, how was football?”
“Intense,” I say, “the boys made me fell off the kitanda three times with their pushing.”
Beth laughed. “Told you, should’ve just gone to school and endure the pain with the rest of the teenage population.”
I groan. “Shut it, let’s go…what day?”
“Let’s just say that were having Gym first time in the morning!”
Beth laughed as she pulled me along with her, which I’m sure I was in a weird state. We entered the stupid doors and got dressed quickly, and went outside. I was about all huffed out at that time, Sage gave me an encouraging smile before she went to her seat.
Why couldn’t football be today?
Our awesome coach did the attendance and thankfully today was a free day, no exercising au running at all, so I walked my lazy butt to the bleachers and sat there as I watched multiple kids playing mpira wa kikapu and other things.
I had been sitting there for a few dakika when Beth joined me, looking tired.
“What’s up?” I asked, looking at her.
“I don’t know, thing’s are bit…I don’t know, weird.” She alisema vaguely.
I rubbed her arm, “want to go to the doctor’s office and fake injuries?”
Beth smiled. “No, not today, maybe Friday.”
“Where’s the rest?”
“The other gal’s are playing basketball.”
“And Grey?”
Beth shrugged. “I didn’t see him, some guy alisema he wasn’t here today.”
I sighed. “Ugh, tired, so tired.”
Beth nodded, and then we just continued watching the others play. Beth squirmed and kept looking at the watch on my arm.
“Not yet, rosebud.”
Beth groaned. “Oh my gosh, I never have a bad siku in Gym, it’s Gym! What’s happening to me?!”
I widened my eyes. “Woah,…calm down.”
Beth shook her head. “It’s true though, I’ve got a D in French, and a B in the rest of my classes, and I’ve barely turned work in! Why is this mwaka the one I’m failing! No honor roll and I get grey hair!”
I looked at her. “Sweetie, everyone’s not going to succeed.”
Beth rolled her eyes. “Yeah, yeah, yeah. I’m just tired, and I feel like, if I don’t raise my grades up…I’m going to fail.”
I nod. “Sucks to be you.”
Beth glared at me. “Shut it, Pam.”
I shrugged. “Things happen, hold on, whatever. So…about those injuries miss I’m going to fail?”
Beth paused, then turned to look at me. “Where’s the nurse’s office?”

Rule 3-Always have a wepon.
Rule 4-Don't and I mean don't let them ever sneak up on you. You'll be a goner.
Rule 5 last rule- Never have a really hot guy helping wewe trying to fight these things. wewe will be focused on him! Not the demon!
That's why I blame Nick. Damn why did he have to be so darn hot.
I open my eyes and lucky me. Guess who's hovering over me? A demon.

Thursday
Lots to blog about. Today was interview day. The principal made all 8th graders go through a mock interview for the experience. We had to dress appropriate and respectable. I wore a tight black and grey dress with a black ukanda above the waist with black wedges. My interview guy was this old fart whose wrinkles hid his emotions. His face was so wrinkled that I couldn't tell whether he was smiling, frowning, au laughing. I think my interview went okay. When I got back with my mduara, duara of friends, they told me how their interviewers were complimenting them and saying how much they loved this resumes and cover letters. He didn't say anything nice au mean. He did however joke with me. In other glorious news, Kyle took me out for ice cream. How cool is that?! He had chokoleti and I had vanilla. We sat and talked. It was just the two of us. kwa inayofuata week, Kyle will surely be my boyfriend.
