Adele Made A ‘Pretty Boring’ Album About Being A Mom That You’ll Never Hear

“I did write an album about being a mum,” she revealed to BBC Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw of creating a record about her two-year-old son, Angelo. “But that’s pretty boring. I scrapped that.”

Adele added that becoming a parent made it “a bit difficult” to get back into the headspace of making an album since she was “out of the habit of writing songs.” But after finally realizing what she wanted to write about, things started to flow.

On Friday (Oct. 23), the world got to hear her latest single, “Hello,” an emotional heartfelt ballad that she calls extremely “intimate,” and not about one person in particular but rather everybody she fell out of touch with in her past.

“I felt like like a lot of stuff in my life has changed and not just because of my career,” Adele explained, “but just because stuff changes as you get older and I found myself yearning for my past for no reason other than it had gone and I missed elements of it and I didn’t want to be back there, I just missed elements. I felt all of us were moving on again; [’Hello’ is] not about an ex-love relationship, it’s about everyone that I love.”
