Artemis and Lilly sat in the living room, staring intensely at the board. Lilly’s hand hovered over each piece before she finally moved. Artemis quickly took her knight. He leaned back and smirked.
“Check,” he said. A devilish grin spread across Lilly’s face and his mind immediately filled with doubt. He watched as she slowly took his Queen with hers.
“Check and mate,” she said, standing up. Artemis continued to stare with his mouth hanging open slightly
“How did I not see that?” he muttered to himself. Lilly shrugged and walked to the window. She sighed when she saw that it was still snowing. She flopped down on the kitanda and groaned in aggravation, grabbing a mto and pressing it over her face. It had been a week and it had not stopped snowing once.
Artemis looked up at her. “Don’t worry,” he said. “It has to stop sometime.” He stood up and stretched.
“I know but I hate waiting!” Lilly said, her voice muffled kwa the pillow.
“Well, I can’t help wewe there.” He started to walk out of the room. “Oh I just remembered something,” he said, turning around. Lilly sat up and removed the mto from her face.
“I have a business meeting tonight and Butler is coming with me, so we will not be nyumbani until late tonight.”
“Okay,” she alisema and Artemis walked out of the room.
After lunch, Lilly was laying on her kitanda with her head hanging off the edge. She was so bored. Artemis had been in his study all siku working and Butler kind of scared her so she just stayed away from him. Just then, Lilly had an idea. She jumped up and ran to her dresser. She plugged her phone into her speakers and pressed play.
Artemis leaned back and sighed. He had been working all siku on the business contract and he was very stressed out. He placed his fingers on his temples and tried to center his chi. muziki suddenly started playing. Artemis stood up, deciding to investigate. He opened the door to his study. The muziki emanated from Lilly’s room. He quietly opened the door and peeked inside. Lilly stood in front if her mirror holding a hairbrush to her mouth. She continued to sing along with the music.
MMMM better...MMMM better...
Absolutely no one that knows me better
No one that can make me feel sooo goooood
How did we stay so long together?
When everybody, everybody alisema we never would
And just when I, I start to think they're right
That upendo has died...
There wewe go making my moyo beat again,
moyo beat again,
moyo beat again
There wewe go making me feel like a kid
Won't wewe do it and do it one time?
There wewe go pulling me right back in,
Right back in,
Right back in
And I know-oo I'm never letting this go-ooo
I'm stuck on you
Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
wewe and me baby we're stuck like glue
Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
wewe and me baby we're stuck like glue
Some days I don't feel like trying
Some days wewe know I wanna just give up
When it doesn't matter who's right, fight about it all night
Had enough
wewe give me that look
"I'm sorry baby let's make up"
wewe do that thing that makes me laugh
And just like that...
There wewe go making my moyo beat again,
moyo beat again,
moyo beat again
There wewe go making me feel like a kid
Won't wewe do it and do it one time
There wewe go pulling me right back in,
Right back in,
Right back in
And I know-oo I'm never letting this go-ooo
I'm stuck on you
Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
wewe and me baby we're stuck like glue
Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
wewe and me baby were stuck like glue
Whutooo Whutoo
wewe almost stay out, too stuck together from the ATL
Whutooo Whutoo
Feeling kinda sick?
Just a spoon full of sugar make it better real quick
I say
Whutooo Whutoo
Whatcha gonna do with that?
Whutooo Whutoo
Come on over here with that
Sugar sticky sweet stuff
Come on give me that stuff
Everybody wants some
Melodies that get stuck
Up in your head
Whutooo whutooo
Up in your head
Whutooo whutooo
Up in your head
Whutooo whutooo
Up in your head
Whutooo whutooo
Whuthoo whutooo
Stuck like glue
wewe and me together, say, it's all I wanna do
I said
There wewe go making my moyo beat again,
moyo beat again,
moyo beat again
There wewe go making me feel like a kid
Won't wewe do it and do it one time
There wewe go pulling me right back in,
Right back in,
Right back in
And I know-oo I'm never letting this go-ooo
There wewe go making my moyo beat again,

Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
wewe and me baby were stuck like glue
Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
wewe and me baby we're stuck like glue
The song ended and Lilly bowed to the mirror. The inayofuata song started.
I still hear your voice, when wewe sleep inayofuata to me.
I still feel your touch in my dreams.
Forgive me my weakness, but I don't know why
Without wewe it's hard to survive.
'Cause everytime we touch, I get this feeling.
And everytime we kiss I swear I could fly.
Can't wewe feel my moyo beat fast, I want this to last.
Need wewe kwa my side.
'Cause everytime we touch, I feel the static.
And everytime we kiss, I reach for the sky.
Can't wewe hear my moyo beat so...
I can't let wewe go.
Want wewe in my life.
An instrumental break began and Lilly started to jump and spin around in circles, her long hair flying behind her. Artemis covered his mouth with his hand and chuckled softly. Lilly must have seen the movement because she stopped jumping and spinning and faced Artemis. Her hair, however, continued to songesha and smacked her across the face making Artemis laugh harder. Lilly’s face turned bright red as Artemis started to clap slowly.
“No, no, that was wonderful,” he smiled. “Keep going.” Lilly’s face changed from embarrassed to angry in half a second. She marched over to the door, pushed Artemis out, and slammed it in his face.
Lilly sat in her room pouting until Artemis and Butler left. She opened her door a crack and quickly poked her head out. After she made sure the coast was clear, she walked out and down to the jikoni to prepare her dinner. She was half way through cooking her spaghetti, tambi noodles when she heard a knock on the door. Butler will get it, she thought. When the knock came again, she remembered that Butler was out with Artemis. She dried her hands and walked to the door. She opened it and a look of confusion washed over her face. There was no one there.
The fairy slowly walked towards Fowl Manor with a large cam foil sheet over it. It walked up to the door and knocked quickly. No one answered. It knocked again and this time it heard light footsteps approach. A girl opened the door and looked in confusion at the empty doorway. The fairy slowly removed the foil in front of its face so that it could make eye contact with the girl and not be seen kwa the camera at the same time.
“Hello, Lilly,” it said, it’s voice layered in mesmer.
“Hello,” Lilly replied.
“Aren’t wewe going to invite me in?”
The girl’s brow furrowed. “Why would I do that?”
“Because I want to come in.”
“But I don’t even know you.”
The fairy took a deep breath. She is even zaidi annoying than her father, it thought. “You will invite me in.” The fairy said, pushing so hard with the mesmer that Lilly’s pupils became a little ridged.
“Okay, come on in.” Lilly stepped aside and the fairy took a tentative step through the doorway. It worked! It turned to Lilly again.
“You will forget everything that just happened.” The fairy alisema and quickly left.
Lilly blinked a couple of times, trying to clear her head. She looked up to find herself standing in front of the open front door. She shivered as a winter wind blew through the house. Lilly quickly shut the door and started back towards the kitchen.
“What was I doing at the door?” she wondered allowed as she dumped her noodles in a drainer.
Artemis walked into the house and stomped the snow off his boots. It was later than he had expected to get home. Butler took in kanzu, koti and Artemis slowly ascended the stairs. He opened the door to Lilly’s room slightly and peeked in. She was sleeping quietly under the folds of her comforter. Artemis quietly closed the door and walked to his study.
“Butler,” he said, before he entered his study.
“Yes, Artemis?”
“You have a little sister, so what would wewe get a 16 mwaka old girl for Christmas? It is in a week and I want to get Lilly something special. She’s like the daughter I never had, but I just can’t think of what to get her.”
“Well,” Butler started. “What does she like?”
“Um…horses, reading, learning new languages, and video games.”
“Then why don’t wewe get her something that has to do with any of those things,” Butler said.
“Hmm,” Artemis said, Lost in thought as he entered his study.
“Check,” he said. A devilish grin spread across Lilly’s face and his mind immediately filled with doubt. He watched as she slowly took his Queen with hers.
