I have been familiar with the Arthurian Legend since a very young age (I was 11 years). I got to the Arthurian Legend kwa kusoma the poem Gawain and the Green Knight. Because I wanted to know zaidi about him I read the Arthurian Legend the Welsh version - in which he has a zaidi expand story line . As I read the Welsh version of the Arthurian Legend I came across the fair goddess-queen named Gwenhwyfar (or at least its Anglicized form of 'Guinevere'). I immediately liked her. I enjoyed kusoma about her as this noble, fair Queen who represented the authority of Arthur's reign. The spirit of Brittia. Gwenhwyfar became a great role model to me as I became older. Later on I decided to read the maarufu version of the Arthurian Legend. The french one. Le Modre Arthur. And I couldn't have been zaidi truly disappointed on the take of the queen. They where nothing alike. It was a pure insult to the woman I idolized so long. In fact I personally find the french version of the Arthurian Legend pretty much anti-woman. Almost every woman of it is portrayed negatively. After this I still watched and read other versions of the Arthurian Legend kwa hoping. But every time I was disappointed over and over again. Countless times I had to kubeba to see Gwenhwyfar's name to be humiliated.
When I watched this onyesha for the first time I was of course skeptical on their take of Guinevere/Gwenhwyfar. My this onyesha truly took me at surprise. I was surprised that Gwen was a handmaiden in the first place. I was shocked to see that these writers where probably heading to a Arthur/Guinevere upendo story.
I came to upendo Gwen in this onyesha as the adorable, awkward and shy young girl as my inayopendelewa character of this show. As I watched Guinevere grow as a person to the Queen she is destined to be I couldn't be zaidi happier that this Guinevere would be zaidi like Gwenhwyfar then any other.
Sure when it comes to appearance Guinevere and Gwenhwyfar couldn't be any zaidi different. While Gwenhwyfar has golden hair Guinevere has brown hair. While Gwenhwyfar has a pale skin (her name means blessed white spirit) Guinevere has a far zaidi darker skin. While Gwenhwyfar is a tall woman (her father has the nickname giant) this version Guinevere is far zaidi shorter. But when it comes to personality Guinevere and Gwenhwyfar are truly alike like no other.
