your not the only one, i thought i would like angel seeing as i love buffy, but i watched some of angel and i never really got into it. I always liked the episodes when buffy characters were in the show, so i thought i may as well just watch buffy

I had only really seen a few episodes plus season 1 and 5 :P (I did not just watch 5 because spike was in it...well okay yeah I did! But I did not fast forward the bits without him...okay yeah thats another lie...:P)

But anyway my mum had them all on dvd (as well as buffy, smallville...she has a lot of dvds :P)

So I decided to watch them and it was amazing. I completely fell in love with it and cangel (I always knew I likes fresley :))

I thought it was amazing (although I do have some problems with series 4...)

So it's now up there as one of my favorite series of all time but no where near as good as buffy.

Wow I completely agree with you (except for Cangel though cos I am a Bangel fan XD) but yeah my mum has every Joss Whedon show ans Smallville and alot of DVDs hehe. Season 4 was wierd....extremely wierd but yeah I love Angel and David Boreanaz!

I've tried so hard to get into Angel and never been able to. I watched half of season 1 and then multiple episodes from each other season and right now I'm forcing myself to watch Season 5 just because Spike's in it, but I just...idk I just don't like it very much. For one thing, I've never liked Angel and pretty much everything he does gets on my nerves and for another none of the side characters really interest me either. Wesley's ok but he starts out just horrible in S1 - I quit watching after Doyle(the only character I kind of liked) died and they brought Wesley into replace him in like the next episode. :/ I didn't like Wesley on BtVS and I really didn't like the way they replaced Doyle so fast with another character and how they transferred his powers to Cordy- I mean it's a great development for her character (a much needed one) but it just felt kind of cheap to me. There was no void in the team left by Doyle's passing.

Ok I'm starting to rant, so shutting up now. And btw- no offense meant to Angel fans by my little rant. I'm sure there's a lot to like about the show, but I just can't get past the things I didn't like. Sorry!

i watched the show but out of boredom....i dont know something was missing.....maybe Buffy:D:D

I love Angel i have every episode on dvd and i have already watched them twice and now im watching it all over again as a 3rd time what can i say i love angel and yer you are right season four was a bit weird but i still love watching them all over again tho after i watched angel im gonna be watching buffy i have to say it has been a while since i have watched buffy tho my bad i have to start watching them soon lol...

while btvs and angel do have different feels to the shows.... i always kind of considered them one show. tuesday nights were just buffy and then angel right after- like a continuation. so i say i love btvs more but i think that's mostly cause buffy is my favorite character so i love having her around....but really i love the show angel just as much. they are just one show to me.

If you're speaking of Angel the TV show thenyou're a CRAZZZYYYY person because anyone who likes Buffy is then forced to love everything in the Whedon verse :)

but if you're referring to Angel the character, no, you're not weird if you don't like him. It's just something Angel fans have to deal with.

I don't hate him, infact I love him a little, but I do so prefer the days when he's all evil and not whining and brooding like some tortured being (because he's so never been tortured-SARCASM).

Angel is my fave character along side B of course so yeah... I loved watching him grow as an individual.

Little bit lost by some of these posts because Angel is a better show...

In alot of ways i prefer angel over buffy, i still like buffy as a character but i prefer other slayers to her though i think she's still a female role model and i always love when angelus comes back hehehe

It's Great But I Don't Like It As Much As Buffy.

At first I didn't even wanna watch Angel cause without Buffy it would be devastating (yep, I'm a crazy Bangel shipper)..I only read summaries so I knew what was going on in LA, but then I gained courage and watched all 5 seasons last year. It's ok, I like the show but the horrible thing that Cangel is ruined things for me. It felt so forced and weird..but some episodes are amazing and I enjoyed seeing Wesley so different and I loved to death LORNE and DOYLE.
