A couple of hours later Meg, Anna, Craig and Evan were sitting in court. In the back there were a lot of visitors, among them was Jane Simmons, holding a small notebook and a pen in her hands.
“Are wewe sure wewe want to do it like this?” Craig asked uncertain.
“Did wewe tell the judge we’re going for unaccountability? “ Meg asked back. Craig nodded, when the clerk stood and called: “All rise!”
Everyone stood and the judge walked inside. He sat down and everyone else followed his example.
“The defendant may rise” the judge said. Meg stood and tried to keep her pounding moyo under control, hoping the judge and the jury wouldn’t notice any of it. “Do wewe know why you’re here, Miss Masters?”
“Yes, your honor” Meg replied and to her relief her voice was steady. “I killed someone”
The judge raised his eyebrows. “You don’t deny this?” he asked.
“No, your honor” Meg sighed.
“Do wewe regret your crimes?” the judge asked.
Meg remained silent. Paul morgan had been on to them and he wouldn’t let Cas go. Heather Roberts had nearly killed him kwa giving him heroin.
“No, you’re honor, I’m not sorry for my crimes” she eventually said.
“Your attorney told me we can’t hold wewe accountable for the murders wewe committed” the judge continued. “But seeing wewe here, I get the idea that wewe knew exactly what wewe did when wewe killed agent morgan and Heather Roberts”
“I’m not sure what my attorney has told you, but I can assure wewe that it is not the truth” Meg replied. “Only I can provide wewe the truth, so if wewe let me, I will tell wewe everything, right from the beginning”
The judge leaned backwards and waved with his hand.
“Please, we’re all ears”
