It was called Husband arrested for Lolo Ferrari's murder | Media | The Guardian
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
French police investigating the death two years ago of Lolo Ferrari, the surgically-enhanced actress, singer and Channel 4 television presenter best known as the woman with the largest breasts in the world, said yesterday they had arrested her husband on suspicion of murder.
Ferrari, a former porn star who underwent more than 30 operations to transform her body, was found dead in March 2000 at the couple\'s home in Grasse in the south of France. She had been taking antidepressants and an initial post mortem examination concluded that she had died from an overdose.
But a new report by a team of three police scientists said last week that she died of suffocation. Eric Vigne, 54, Ferrari\'s husband and manager of 13 years, was placed under formal investigation - one step short of being charged - on Wednesday, a police spokesman said.
Mr Vigne has in the past vehemently denied any part in the death of his wife, who with her record bust - measured at 54G by the Guinness Book of Records - became a cult figure in Britain as one of the co-presenters of Channel 4\'s Eurotrash.
"Why believe this report rather than the last one?" asked Mr Vigne\'s lawyer, Serge Pautot. "He had no earthly reason to kill her - she was the goose that laid his golden eggs. Without her, he\'s penniless."
But Michel Cardix, a lawyer acting for Ferrari\'s parents, said the new report had "finally cut through Mr Vigne\'s incoherences, impossibilities and lies".
Born Eve Valois in 1963, Ferrari grew up in a middle-class family in the resort town of La Baule. Mr Vigne, whom she met when she was 17, masterminded her transition into a cruelly inflated doll - although Ferrari always said she was happy with her ever-changing body because it helped her escape a deeply unhappy childhood.
Her mammoth breasts, designed by an aircraft engineer, held three litres of surgical serum each. She had difficulty breathing, could not sleep on her stomach or back, and was afraid of flying because she thought they might explode.
