Having been a a shabiki of 70s Blaxplortation film genre, I can see why they're classics. As a child growing up in the '70's, Blaxplortation films we're the new film genre in movie history and entertaining as well. It was always the same scenario where African-Americans were pitted against the white establishment; in addition to, fighting for racial equality.
Cleopatra Jones, Foxy Brown, Shaft and Supetfly made up all the components of blaxplortation films. Despite having some violent and racial overtures, Blaxploration managed to have some good storylines. The first time I saw the 1972 Film, Superfly, was when me and father got a VCR and special ordered it at a Best Buy in Elyria, Ohio, and it peaked my interest in the classic film genre although I was just a kid growing up in the 70s. Anyway, Blaxplortation Films are apart of classic movie genre; in addition, to being aired o TCM and other cable channels as well. For example, released at the height of the 70s Blaxplortation film genre back in 1973, Live And Let Die, The classic James Bond film, was the film to feature an interracial upendo scene between Sir Roger Moore And Gloria Hendry; in addition, to having its first black, which was played kwa Yaphett Kotto.
Also, Live And Let Die was the only Bond film to feature all black villains. Cleopatra Jones, another classic Blaxplortation film, released the same year, featurered a strong black woman taking on crooked cops a a female notorious crime figure played kwa Academy-award winning actress, Shelley Winters. Played kwa Tamara Dobson, she personified the title character with moyo and soul kwa way of proving that women and fight back as good as their male counterparts. If weren't for these talented black actors and actresses, this classic film clip wouldn't exist in the film industry. I also have to give Gordon Parks and Mario van Peebles an honorable mention for they made some of these classic apart of pop culture.
Although these films were made nearly 50 years ago, I enjoy watching them once in a great while. wewe can obtain these classic films on Netflix and DVD if you're in the mood for some action if wewe can dig it.
