For a school science fair last year, my friend and I studied the effect of temperature on carbonation. We used 30 bottles of 12oz. koki and 30 bottles of 12oz. Pepsi. We exposed ten bottles of each soda to a cold temperature, 10 to a room temperature, and 10 to a warm temperature. We then placed small balloons over the tops, opened the bottles, and measured the size of the balloon every 30 seconds, three times.

Here were our average results:

Soda: Pepsi
Temperature: Warm

30 Seconds: 12.85cm
60 Seconds: 12.03cm
90 Seconds: 11.65cm

Soda: Pepsi
Temperature: Cold

30 Seconds: 14.5cm
60 Seconds: 14.65cm
90 Seconds: 14.45cm

Soda: Pepsi
Temperature: Room

30 Seconds: 14.75cm
60 Seconds: 14.85cm
90 Seconds: 14.05cm

Soda: Coke
Temperature: Room

30 Seconds: 16.0cm
60 Seconds: 16.3cm
90 Seconds: 16.45cm

Soda: Coke
Temperature: Cold

30 Seconds: 14.1cm
60 Seconds: 14.45cm
90 Seconds: 14.55cm

Soda: Coke
Temperature: Warm

30 Seconds: 17.0cm
60 Seconds:19.0 cm
90 Seconds: 10.75cm

Cold Temperature:
Pepsi had better carbonation 2 out of 3 times in the cold temperature.

Room Temperature:
koki had better carbonation 3 out of 3 times in the room temperature.

Warm Temperature:
koki has better carbonation 2 out of 3 times in the warm temperature.

Final Result:

2/3 of the time, koki had the better carbonation and 1/3 of the time, Pepsi had the better carbonation.

Overall, koki has a better carbonation in ranging temperatures.
