I opened the door to the Curtis brother's house, and decided to give Darry a surprise visit. I closed the door quietly behind me, and threw my leather koti, jacket on the couch. I decided that I wanted to try to scare him, since he scared me a few nights zamani when he jumped out from behind my bed. I walked quietly around the house, peeking my head into every room. As I walked through the empty house, I heard muziki coming from upstairs. I walked up the stairs quietly, which was hard since they creaked every step I took, and followed my way down the hallway to where the muziki was coming from. The muziki was coming from Darry's room, and the door was halfway shut. I pushed on the door a little to open it, and couldn't believe my eyes! Darry was dancing. I have never seen Darry dance before. I would've stuck up behind him and scared him, but this was priceless. I stood in the doorway of his room, leaned up against the door frame, and watched his every, hilarious move. He grabbed a sock, bundled it up, and began pretending that it was a microphone. The words, "Don't wewe want me baby" came out of his mouth, as he turned around and saw me. He quickly shut the muziki off, and stood there, embarrassed. His cheeks flushed to a bright red, and he was speechless. "How long have wewe been standing there?" He asked, his voice a bit shaky. "Long enough to know that you're a terrible dancer." I truthfully and jokingly said. Darry walked towards me. "You take that back." He said, trying his best to sound serious. I smirked. "Nah." Darry leaped towards me, and began chasing me, until we both landed on his bed. Darry landed on juu of me, and told me that he wouldn't get off of me until I took what I alisema back. "It's not my fault that you're terrible at dancing." I squirmed around underneath Darry, trying my best to get free. "Woah! She alisema yes? I told ya she liked ya back! wewe can at least shut the door, Dar.! " Two-Bit shrieked from the doorway. Darry got up off of me, and sat up on the bed. Darry's face grew a bright shade of cherry red, and he made a 'shut up' face to Two-Bit. "I'll give ya two some privacy." Two-Bit winked, and shut the door.
I sat up, and noticed that Darry felt really uncomfortable. "What was that all about?" I asked as I set my hand on Darry's shoulder. Darry turned around to face me. "Nothin'" He alisema quietly. "Oh, c'mon Darry. wewe can tell me!" I said, assuring him. "Well, ya see... I kinda like you. zaidi than a friend." Darry admitted. "Really?" Darry nodded. "Well, I kinda like wewe too." I alisema and smiled. Darry looked at me, and smiled too. "How 'bout I take wewe on a date?" "How 'bout after I teach wewe how to dance!" I alisema and winked. I walked over the radio, and turned it on. I grabbed Darry's hand and we spent most of the night dancing. Well, we spent most of the night trying to dance.

“You alright, babe?” He asks. wewe were lying on your stomach on juu of him.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” wewe say.
He strokes his hair. “You know, this could be us every night.”
“Yeah but we’d have kids, so it would be weird and awkward to do this every night. What if they had bad dreams au something?” wewe say.
“Ok, well then every other night.” He grins.
“That might work.” wewe laugh.
“By the looks of it, we’ll have lots of little kids on our hands.” He winks.

“I’m pregnant.” wewe blurt out.
Darry looks at wewe in complete shock. “What?”
“I’m pregnant, and I think we should put the baby up for adoption.” wewe say in rushed words.
He just gives wewe a funny look.
“Money’s tight…” wewe continue. “It wouldn’t be fair to bring up a child like this… And I don’t know if wewe even want it… I’d think it’d be best for him au her.”
“What’s best for our baby is living with it’s parents who will work hard to make a good life for them.” He smiles at you.

“Hey, Darry, please stop picking on him. He’s obviously stressed out.” wewe plead with wewe boyfriend. He and Ponyboy were fighting about grades and school and such.
“(Y/N), please stay out of this.” Darry says, eyes still locked on his younger brother.
“She has a point.” Ponyboy snorts.
“Don’t use that tone with me, young man.” Darry says, voice raised.
“Who went and made wewe dad?” Ponyboy asked, shrugging his shoulders.
“You take that back.” Darry says, lunging for Ponyboy.
They start beating up on each other, nothing serious. Brothers will be brothers.
“Hey! Knock it off!” wewe say, trying to separate them on the ground.
Smack!
wewe fall back, the hit getting wewe hard.
The boys freeze, realizing they’ve hit you.
“Ow!” wewe say. “That was my boob!”
They burst out laughing.

“Daddy, look what I found.”
“Olivia….” I start. The box of kittens was not something I wanted in this house.
“I found them down the street, daddy. This is one is Muffins, this one is Daisy.. And that’s Peaches.” She smiles up at me.
“Olivia… Do we really need these?”
“Daddy… They need a home.”
“We can find them one.”
“But they’ll upendo it here!” She says pouting. “I’ll feed them, I’ll play with them, I’ll take them on walks, and I’ll have chai parties with them.”
“Cats don’t go on walks… And I don’t think they drink tea.”
“Please daddy.”
I hate it when she does this.
“Go talk to your mom.” I sigh

“Merry Christmas, babe.” wewe feel Darry’s strong arms wrapping around you.
“Hmmm… Merry Christmas.” wewe mumble.
“I got all of Danny’s presents under the tree.” He says, snuggling down into the kitanda a little more.
“Did wewe remember the football?” wewe ask.
“Yeah, I remembered that. It’s the best gift.” He smiles. “He’ll upendo it.”
“Yeah…” wewe mumble.
“Before wewe fall back asleep, I have a present for you.” He whispers to you.
“Mhmm?”
He leans over you, inaonyesha wewe a black box.
wewe open it, to see the most beautiful necklace.
“It was my mom’s.” he mutters. “I thought you’d like it.”

"Thanks for walking me nyumbani Darry.?" He looked at wewe with his sparkling eyes. "No problem y/n" he alisema to you. wewe met Darry when wewe had to got to Ponyboy's for a progect. He came and answered the door when wewe knocked. You've had a crush in him ever since. wewe were were in front of your house. "Um...y/n would ya...uhhh...maybe...wanna...go out sometime?" He asked you. On the inside wewe were screaming but wewe had to stay cool. Answer smoothly. "Yeah it be fun Darry." wewe answered. Before wewe left him wewe pecked him on the cheek and ran inside. Then looked thorough the curtains without Darry seeing you. And Darry stood there with a dumb look on his face holding his cheek. wewe thought to yourself a life with Darry. It was perfect. A life with Darry is the life wewe want.
Swaying back and forth to the bila mpangilio songs on the radio, champagne bottle in one hand, heels off, his shati off; this slow dance was a little interesting.
wewe had gotten tired of the New Years Party wewe were at, so wewe decided to have your own; complete with balloons, champagne, dancing, and the life of the party.
“This is fun,” wewe laugh as wewe look up to him.
“Yeah,” he laughs, as he dips you.
“Careful of the champagne, babe.”
“Sorry… Just trying to make things classy.” He laughs.
“You kidding me? This is some high class shit!” wewe laugh.
He glances at the clock.
“It’s 11:59,” he grins.
“Time for our New Year’s kiss,” wewe grin as wewe lean in.
“Not yet!” He yells, moving your face away. “It isn’t midnight yet!”
wewe laugh, then glance at the clock.
“Well, we missed it.” wewe pout. “It’s 12:01.”
“Looks like we have to wait a whole nother year.”

Darry’s P.O.V
“Daddy?” Danny asks from the back seat. He was six now, and Olivia was one.
“What happened to your mommy and daddy?” He asks.
I don’t answer for a minute, just keep driving. What do I say?
“My mommy and daddy are hanging out in heaven.” Is all I can think of to say.
“They’re partying with Jesus?” Danny asks. “That’s cool!”
“Yeah, bud,” I smile. “Partying with Jesus.”

wewe sighed.
How were wewe going to tell him wewe got laid off?
Y’all needed money… wewe had just bought a house, and money was short.
So of course wewe had to lose your job.
wewe walking into your house, and flop onto the couch. wewe were pretty much done with all the stress.
Darry walked out of the bathroom, towel around his waist.
“What’s up babe?” He said, chuckling at the sight of wewe sprawled on the couch.
“I got laid off.” wewe mumble.
He’s silent for a second, taking this in. “I’ll pick up another shift.” He says.
“No, no.. wewe don’t have to…” wewe start.
“No.. I’d make zaidi money than wewe would. It’s gonna be fine I promise.”

wewe put your head in your hands and breathe deeply. How where wewe going to tell him? wewe had gotten the phone call today.
wewe were actually close to Soda. Danny played with Grace and Logan all the time. wewe couldn’t even begin to imagine how they felt.
wewe hear the front door open. Darry was nyumbani now. wewe take another deep breath, and sit at the jikoni table.
Just breathe.
He walks into the kitchen. “Hey babe, what’s wrong?” He asks, setting down his wallet and keys.
wewe swallow. “I got a call.” Is all wewe manage to say.
“About?” He asks, eyebrows raised.
“Soda’s dead.” wewe blurt out.
The look on Darry’s face would haunt your memory for the rest of your life.
He just sat down on the floor in pure shock, mouth open, eyes wide.

“Darry, how do wewe feel about kids?” wewe ask.
“About having kids?” He asked. wewe were nervous.
“Yeah.”
“I’ve never told anyone this really… But it’s been my goal in life to be a better father figure than I ever was to Soda au Ponyboy… I thought I did a good job, but I know I could’ve done better.” He scratches his neck. “So yeah I’d want to have kids.”
“Well that’s good.” wewe smile.
“Why?” He asks. “You aren’t…” He starts, but then looks at you. “You are aren’t you?” His smile lights up the whole room.
wewe nod your head. He picks wewe up in a big kubeba hug.

“No I heard what wewe said.”

“Hey, do y’all want to go play football?” Darry asked the gang.
Everyone’s saying yeah, but wewe say, “No.”
“Why not?” Ponyboy asked.
“Darry think’s I’m awful at football, so I’m not going to play.” wewe say in a joking tone.
“Well she does,” Darry smiles.
“It really hurts,” wewe sniffle.
“Well fine, I’ll stay back with you.” He says, plopping on the kitanda inayofuata to you.
“You know, it really hurt my feelings.”
“I alisema I was sorry.”
“But it still hurts.”
“Well fine, let me make it up to you.”
He leans over and kisses you.
