This makala details the arguments supporting the position that "mechanical pencils are better than wooden pencils" in the link, in order to ensure that arguments are not repeated and also for the audience to keep track of the arguments and their counters. This makala was last updated on 8 April 2008.

The arguments come in two forms: arguments for the superiority of mechanical pencils, and arguments for the inferiority of wooden pencils.

Mechanical Pencil Superiority

Argument: Less time, effort and equipment to keep mechanical pencils sharpened.

Argument: Mechanical pencils come with a clip to attach them to your shati pocket for convenience (and so wewe don't lose it).

Wooden Pencil Inferiority

Argument: The process for sharpening a wooden pencil in school is long and complicated.
Counter-argument: Sharpeners for wooden pencils are everywhere, while running out of lead in a mechanical pencil leaves wewe with little recourse but to ask fruitlessly to borrow some lead.
Response: Prepared users will bring extra lead refills.

Argument: Wooden pencils break zaidi easily than mechanical ones (particularly metal ones).
Counter-argument: The lead in mechanical pencils breaks much zaidi easily than breaking a wooden pencil, for which deliberate effort is required.
