Unfortunately. She has been confirmed quite a few times, and she is already in some of the merchandise

AS wont I. Merida and Brave was a bogus scam and movie. Sexist towards both women and men. She also is a brat. PIXAR is doing some under the table dealing with the Oscars I am starting to think to. Wreck it Ralph and Frankenweenie were both very heart-felt spectacular movies that deserved that award way more. Academy is just being a kiss-ass now. Or something funny is going on as I said.

Persephone713 how was Brave and Merida a scam? and how is the movie Sexist toward Men and Women? I Love Merida and She is a great role model for girls...I also feel she is the most realistic (beisdes Tiana) of the Princesses (she starts off as a spoiled teenage Brat...which is pretty common for rich teenage girls...and ends up learning a lesson and growing from it)She learns from her actions and bonds with her Parents instead of her getting what she wants and learning nothing except that she deserves to get what she wants whenever she wants it (example Ariel and Jasmine) Personally I tried watching the animated Frankenweenie and found it boring and a little creepy (my kids also lost interest in it and did not much care for it either)...Wreck it Ralph was cute (my 9 yr old loves it but my 5 yr old does not) but I think Brave is alot better and I love the family bonding and the beautiful story....my daughters and my husband also Love Brave.....

oh and if your Problem with Merida is that she is a Brat then you must also not like Ariel and Jasmine....they are huge Brats and they still get exactly what they want in the end and seem to have learned nothing from the problems they caused by being rebellious....oh and they did not seem to grow or change from their encounters either...they basically teach that your Parents should give you what you want and that if they say No they are holding you back and you should disobey them and do it anyway (and don't worry they will forgive you and thier will be no consequences)

Merida came to terms with what she had done and compromised and made the right decision in the end and finally saw her mothers point of view...she solved her problem and became a better Person and a better daughter....

"they are huge Brats and they still get exactly what they want in the end and seem to have learned nothing from the problems they caused by being rebellious" ...so...rebellious people are brats?

She isn't an official DP, and I guess I'll never consider her as a DP. Pixar is a different category for me.

Safira-09 I did not say they were Brats because they were rebellious...Disrepescting thier parents, being mouthy, being rude, defying thier parents and still not getting punished for it, that is what made them Brats....Merida started that way too, but then she amended her ways and came to a compromise with her parents and learned some respect and dicipline....Spoiled Brats who get thier way even after throwing a fit get on my nerves...Elinor was upset when Merida came back and made sure she was okay, but she did not waver or change her mind about the marriage (she did not give in to her) and even after the Bear incident Merida is still expected to marry, but now she has a chance to fall in love with one of the suitors....

When My girls are teenagers I hope they are more like Rapunzel or Tiana or Merida at the end....Hopefully I have raised them well enough and they will not turn into an Ariel,Jasmine or even how Merida was at the begining (even though she did show alittle more respect toward her parents then the others)....

I think it's a little too early to add another DP. They can wait for at least one more year. I won't consider Merida a princess yet, not until it's official.

I bought a piece of Merida merch with the DP logo on it, so she will be one. But I won't officially add her to any lists until her coronation :)

But I love Merida so I'm excited for her!

It just bothers me so much because she's PIXAR, and for me Pixar is a totally different thing from Disney I know that they are both kind of the same company but Pixar is Pixar and Disney is Disney thats how it is in my head.

@Sweetpea2007- I don't mean to be rude but you'll most likely take it that was way.. but you are going to get a big shock when your kids are teenagers and I only hope you will only have time to 'understand' them.

LatinoLollipops not all teenage girls are the same..I was very respectful and docile and had manners and followed the rules...I waited and bided my time and when I went to college I did what I wanted...I went to parties,I stayed out late, I tried Drugs,I drank,I cussed like a sailor, but I also was careful and since I was older I took precautions and di not do these things rashly...and even though I was doing these things I still kept up my grades and made the right decisions and I still have my parents respect and trust (they know I did things in College but I was an adult then and those were my own choices....If I had done those things under thier roof I would have been disrespecting them) And now I can honestly tell my daughters that I was a good kid and not come off as a hypicriote if they do bad things at home...I hope my daughters make the right decisions, but I will love them no matter what..LatinoLollipops when you become a Parent one day you will understand...And I did not take your comment as rude (I was a teenage girl once so I do "understand")

SweetPea2007-Yaaay, I'm very different to girls my age but I have friends (now) and bitch of a sister who have done things I am gobsmacked about! My dad left me before I was born and have the biggest dick of a step dad ever! who puts me down constantly and literally clears any bit of confidence I have.. I used to bite my tongue but only this year I am sick to death of it so I'm sorry but I guess I am disrespectful.. I love my mother but I wouldn't dream of doing anything to hurt her.. the best reason I can come up with for my step-dad not liking me and thriving of my disappointment and misery is he might just not understand me..but then again that would make no sense? I can emphasize with Ariel for having her dad not understand her and Jasmine for not wanting to get married (but there really wasn't much she could do in her situation besides run away or whine about it, she was dealing with male oppression and the strict rules of being a princess) Ariel to me has a difficult relationship with her father and although she loves him the fact he was being very closed minded and dare I say it a twat I completely understand why she would run away.. I would have done exactly the same.. or be open with my sister about it. But the point is I don't see these two as being bad role models as they are just doing what a regular teenage girl would do in that situation. If I was Jasmine though I would have just kept running away.. I'm not settling down with some stranger.

I understand the people who doesn't consider her a disney princess because she's pixar, but she is obviously a princess and she's awesome. She is indeed a brat at the beginning of the movie but I'm with sweetpea2007, Ariel was even more of a spoiled girl who always got everything she wanted, besides being the daughter of some sort of sea king, she doesn't respects him and does as she pleases, she just couldn't care less about family values and her princess duties, leaving her whole family because of a dude she just met. In real life this kind of situation would certainly end up in teenage pregnancy, kidnappings or worse (of course, she's fictional and she being fictional I still kinda like her). Merida teaches little girls that they need to be brave and don't go around expecting prince charmings to come and solve all their problems, they can do this by themselves.
